When I returned to Magnolia, my life also returned to normal: working day and night for the next few months. Because our guild wasn't receiving many requests, I've started picking up some modeling work to make some money for the guild. Of course, this was no easy job since the industry was full of perverted old men that only wants an eyeful of young girls in bikinis and lingerie everyday; as you might expect, I hated the job, but you gotta do what you gotta do to make money, and since the job actually pays pretty well if the directors like you, it was the best method I could think of to make fast cash legally.
Unfortunately, today was one of the days where I have a photoshoot scheduled, and I most certainly was not looking forward to it whatsoever. My face muscles always end up aching from forcing a smile all day, and I can't even begin to imagine the embarrassment I might feel if Sting were to see one of my magazines.
"Yes, just like that! Push your chest up a little more! Yes, yes! Perfect!" the director cheered as the camera flashed, "Now tilt your body a little to the left. Yes! Perfect!" My body was starting to ache from sitting in this weird position for so long. I want to go home. It's okay, Vina, just endure a couple more hours of this. Just a couple more hours; just two more hours... You got this... This absolutely sucks...
Once this stupid photoshoot was finally over, I didn't even bother dropping by the guild and just went straight home. I really don't understand how these directors think. I mean, think about it, it's December; there's no reason to be advertising swimsuits in the middle of the freezing winter. Of course, it's obvious that 'advertising clothes' was just a cover up for the real purpose of selling risqué magazines to perverts. The ringing of my communication lacrima immediately snapped me out of my thoughts, instantly lifting my mood.
"Happy holidays~!" Sting and Lector cheered from the other line, "We're officially on vacation, so let's hang out a lot this upcoming week!" Fortunately, Sabertooth allows its members one week off for the winter holidays, which means that Sting and I will be able to spend Christmas together.
"Yeah, I'm looking forward to it," I smiled. Honestly, I was lying. I never liked December; matter of fact, I hated the month. Around this time of the year, all of my trauma and fear come back to haunt me, so I never leave the house since I didn't want to burden anyone else with my depressive state.
This year, I finally mustered up the courage to not lock myself up alone and actually spend the holidays with someone I love instead, hoping that being with someone else might help a little.
"Will you be coming over tomorrow?" Sting asked.
"I think so," I answered.
"Um... If you want, how about you come over right now? It's not that late yet, so I think the trains are still running," Sting suggested.
"Is that okay? I probably won't arrive 'til late in the night."
"It's fine. We'll wait for you, so don't worry," he reassured with a lovely smile.
"Alright then. I'll start packing and head over in a bit," I returned the smile. We continued to chat while I packed a small suitcase with enough necessities to last me a week, and just like that, I was on the next train over to Sting's house.
"Hi! Come in!" Sting excitedly greeted me before I even got a chance to knock on the door.
"Hey, you~ I come bearing gifts, though they'll have to wait until Christmas Day," I smiled as Sting patted my head endearingly, "Did you guys eat yet?"
"Nope. We were waiting for you. We bought a seafood hotpot before you came, so all we gotta do now is heat it up," Lector informed as Sting brought our dinner out of the fridge.
