I woke up the next morning to find Laxus getting ready to go somewhere. Choosing to ignore him like I always do, I casually waltz past him into the bathroom where I completed my morning routine.
"Hey, where's my shirt?" I heard my brother ask from his room.
"Which shirt?" I questioned, "You don't happen to mean this one, right?" I awkwardly glanced down at the purple shirt I was using as a makeshift dress.
"You-... Never mind," he sighed and exited the house.
"Hey, where are you going?" I called out as I struggled to pull my boots on and followed him out.
"I promised Natsu and Gajeel to fight them, so now I have to go through with it," he sighed once more, "What a pain this is. So why are you following me?"
"You really think I'm gonna miss watching Natsu and Gajeel getting KO'd?" I said, earning a bonk from my brother.
When we arrived at the park, it was turned into a huge festival, complete with food stands, game stations, and even a stage. They really went all out for something like this, didn't they...?
"What the heck is this?" Laxus asked, confused as to why there is even a festival in the first place.
"When they found out about the battle, they started partying last night," Bickslow informed, causing the lightning dragon to sigh.
"Well, they're just excited to see you again, right?" Ever added. The five of us walked around and checked out the festival for a while until it was time for the showdown.
"Ladies and gentlemen! I am your emcee, Jason! It is now time for the highly anticipated showdown! It seems like Laxus has arrived first and is waiting for his challengers!" Jason announced. Freed had pulled out a chair for Laxus to sit on and now we were waiting for the others to arrive. "Gajeel is the first to arrive on the scene!" My brother looked at the iron dragon with a smirk as Natsu finally arrived.
"I'll start with you first, Natsu," he smirked once more as he stood up and walked towards the Salamander. People started to back off once the two charged up their magic; the magic being released was intense even though none of them moved yet. It seems like the first one to attack will lose, which will most likely- no, definitely- be Natsu.
"You don't seem very interested," Freed said to me.
"Well, I expect Natsu to get KO'd like always, so nothing new to see here," I answered in between munches of a dango stick. As I had predicted, Natsu charged in with a confident battle cry only to be defeated in one hit, leaving the audience in shock. I couldn't help but stifle a laugh.
"How anticlimactic," I chuckled at the sight of the fire dragon, who seems to be in shock as well.
"Natsu, are you okay?" Happy worriedly asked while poking him with a stick, causing him to twitch slightly.
"Who's next?" Laxus asked only to find that Gajeel had ran away in fear, causing me to laugh even more. Everyone started yelling and left on a manhunt for the iron dragon. When we turned around, we saw Wendy, Carla, and our grandpa; the atmosphere immediately dropped and an awkward silence filled the air.
"Master, just let Laxus back in the guild already!" Freed pleaded as the other Thunder Legion member agreed. Freed looked over at me, hoping that my agreement would change the master's mind, but I silently looked away. Personally, I don't really care whether he comes back or not, and that's not for me to decide anyways, so I don't see a point in debating the topic. Laxus started walking away, leaving the Thunder Legion in a slight panic. Not wanting to stay another minute in this awkwardness, I took my leave and followed my brother into town.
