Before we even realized, the three months dedicated to training had passed. Our team had returned a few weeks early to catch up on some work, but by the time Laxus and I returned from our job, the main team participating for Fairy Tail was already decided.
"Took you guys long enough; you're one of the last ones to return," grandpa nagged while stroking his beard, "Everyone else already left for Crocus."
"I assume the usual group is representing our guild?" I asked and Juvia nodded, "So why are we here?"
"Vina, you're the one with the most knowledge on the Games, so would you be a sweetheart and reread the rules for this old man?" grandpa requested, more like ordered, as he dropped the thick rulebook in front of me. Not really having a choice, I pulled out my gale-force reading glasses and started skimming the book.
"The rules are the same as usual, except for one new rule: each guild can have two teams enter the tournament, therefore ten members from one guild can join," I read as grandpa's eyes started to sparkle and a suspicious smirk crept up his face.
"Then what are we waiting for?! We're making a second team right now!" he announced.
"I'm fine with that; it raises our chance of winning, right?" Laxus smirked.
"For once I agree with something you said! Our second team will include: Laxus, Mira, Gajeel, Juvia, and Levina!" grandpa decided, making some of the chosen members, including myself, groan, "What's up with this reaction?"
"I know we agreed with this second team idea, but that didn't mean we wanted to be chosen," Gajeel noted.
"If there's no merit for me, I don't wanna join something bothersome like this," my brother added as I nodded in agreement.
"Being on a different team means... being my darling Gray's enemy? Juvia doesn't want that!" the water mage protested.
"Geez, you kids are so difficult.... Fine, how 'bout this? Between Team A and Team B, whoever ends up scoring more points will win; the winning team can order the losers around for an entire day," grandpa compromised, perking our interests as our team members started smirking suspiciously.
"So basically, there's a punishment game," Lily simplified with a sigh.
"Sounds interesting. I'm in," Laxus agreed, prompting the rest of us to agree, "Now let's go beat those idiots on the A team up."
"That's not it..." grandpa tried to correct our team's mindset, but we were already set on our motivation.
"The Games start tomorrow, so we should hurry," Mira noted, and everyone left to go pack with the exception of grandpa, Laxus, and I.
"What are you gonna do about Raven Tail? Our dad has sensitive information about the guild, right?" Laxus asked.
"Levina, you said he hasn't caused any trouble for the guild all these years?" grandpa questioned and I nodded.
"I assume he saw no use in the remaining members, so he left us alone," I answered.
"If that's the case then we'll leave them alone. He hasn't caused us any trouble. There's no need to start drama," grandpa decided, leaving Laxus and I slightly shocked, "Shouldn't you two start packing? You're part of the line up, you know?" Before this old man could nag us even more, Laxus and I went our separate ways home before regrouping with the others in Crocus.
When we arrived at the flower capital, everyone was looking around in awe at the beautiful town, which was gorgeously decorated for the festival like it always is every year.
