The color of the leaves were changing once again. The once maple-colored, crunchy leaves fluttering in the air had been pushed away by the snowy winter and now, the beautiful, luscious greenery under the warm sunlight. Birds soared gracefully in the bright, blue sky and butterflies danced among the flowers. Everyone and everything was lively as the spring came and Fairy Tail was no exception.
Our guild had opened up for business again at the break of the new year, and we've been busier than ever before. The same could be said for Sabertooth since Sting and I barely had any time to visit one another, and this made me miss the time I was a member of his guild, spending everyday with him and coming back to a shared home. I found myself often wishing I was still a part of Saber, but that made me feel awful, especially when I know that grandpa had worked hard to make Fairy Tail a great family for me to be with.
"You alright?" Kinana asked from behind the bar counter.
"Oh, yeah. Just a bit tired." I flashed her a reassuring smile as I sipped on my tea, but I wasn't able to fool her or Mira.
"If you're not feeling too well, you should go home and rest for the day," Mira suggested.
"I'm fine, really. There's just been a lot on my mind," I said.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Uh... Not really, but thanks, Mira." I flashed her a smile. "By the way, how has things been with your boyfriend, Kinana?" I quickly changed the topic.
"What?! You guys know about this already?" Kinana gasped as light pink dusted her cheeks.
"Words spread fast around our guild," Mira giggled. "So~ Tell us about him."
"Erik and I have been going on a lot more dates now that Crime Sorciere is forgiven for their past crimes," Kinana happily explained. It was an understatement to say she was excited at the mention of her man, understandably at that. "Me aside, a lot more of the so-called couples in our guild have been getting closer too."
"Like Gajeel and Levy. Gray and Juvia had gotten closer too... and oh! Natsu and Lucy are tighter than ever," Mira listed.
"Ever and Elfman had gotten pretty close too," I added. "And you and Laxus~"
"Ehh?! What do you mean, Vina?" Mira gasped, feigning innocence.
"You know what I mean." I nudged her arm. "I'm sure you guys had fun on that amusement park date."
"What ever do you mean?" Mira continued her little act. "Anyways, what about you and Sting?"
"We're as close as ever. It's been a while since we've met up, so maybe I'll visit Saber later." Just as the words left my mouth, the mailman came with our new batch of jobs.
"Perfect timing, you might be able to go after your job," Mira said and handed me a flyer.
"'Please help our town rid its poison, Fairy Tail's Levina Dreyar and Sabertooth's Rufus Lore'? This is an unusual pair..." I mumbled as I did another take on the flyer to make sure I didn't read the name wrong.
"That's Saber's memory-make wizard, right? Do you guys not get along?" Kinana asked.
"It's not that we don't get along... But it's not like we do either... We've only done a couple translation jobs at the guild together with everyone else, but other than that, I hardly interact with him, especially one-on-one," I said. Considering both mine and Rufus's personalities, I doubt it'll be all fun and butterflies if we're in a one-on-one situation. "Well, I should get going to not keep him waiting. I'll be staying over at Saber for a few days, so you know where to find me if you need me."
