Chapter 18 - Dinosaur Encounter

Y/n's POV:

The door to my bedroom creaks and I sleepily look over to see a small shadow in the doorway. As my eyes adjust, I can see Ava, clinging to Mr Snuggles. "Are you ok bug?" I whisper, alerting her that I was awake. She slowly shuffles into the room and fiddles with the teddy in her hands. "Can I sleep in here with you and Scarly?" She mumbles and I can't help but smile at her cuteness. "Of course, bug. Come here." I reply.

I sit up, lift her up and tuck her under the covers between Scarlett and me. As if she can sense the addition in the bed, Scarlett turns over in her sleep and Ava instantly snuggles into her. "Traitor." I whisper and Ava giggles. If it wasn't so cute, I'd be pissed that she replaced my snuggles for Scarlett! Not wanting to miss out, I wrap my arm over both of them and hold them close.

Ava has managed to fall asleep within seconds and is quietly snoring whilst Mr Snuggles is squished against Scarlett's neck. I fight off sleep for a short while, wanting to just enjoy this moment of the three of us together. It's been so long since we've been like this, and I want to take it all in and make the most of it. Eventually sleep takes over and I feel content being with the two most important people on my life.

The next morning, I wake up before the others. Scarlett is on her side and has both arms wrapped around Ava, who was snuggled into her chest, her mouth slightly open. As quietly as I can, I get out of bed and take a quick photo, and it is quickly my new lock screen. After creepily admiring them for a moment, I sneak out into the kitchen to start on breakfast.

Whilst whipping up a batch of pancakes, I think about what we could do today. An idea hit me, and I quickly grab my phone to check that it is still on and I'm happy to see that it is. I quickly book three tickets and I'm excited to hopefully give Ava an amazing day.

Content with my plan, I turn to the stove to start cooking the pancakes. Whilst I was doing that, I am mindlessly scrolling through Facebook when I see an article pop up about Scarlett and I on our hike yesterday. There are some photos of us walking and also sat on the bench. It talks  about Colin's statement and if our relationship was truly ok. There are also the pictures of what happened after the kiss, and it looks like Scarlett clocked him pretty good across the cheek.

It pisses me off that people found this interesting enough to write about. I also hate the idea that I didn't even notice anyone taking our pictures. Normally I'm pretty good at spotting the paparazzi so I can make sure that Scarlett is ok, and to protect Ava if she's with me. I closes down the article, but a comment caught my eye, and I knew I shouldn't read them, but my thumb was clicking on them before I know it.

It's all just for show. Look at them, neither of them are happy.

How low must your self confidence have to be to stay with someone who cheats on you?

She's clearly just sticking around for the money. No other person in their right mind would stick around after that. Scarlett needs to dump her ass.

Is Y/n the biggest fool around. Scarlett is way out of her league and is clearly just using her for the publicity.

I still don't understand what Scarlett sees in the ugly ass bitch. Girl seriously needs to get some glasses and move on!

I don't understand why Scarlett is dating with a women with a kid! She can do so much better than that slut. 

I'm distracted when a pair of arms wrap around my waist and a soft kiss is placed against the back of my neck. "What are you reading?" I quickly shut off my phone and turn around so I can face my girlfriend. "Nothing important." I reply but she instantly frowns at me. "Then why is your face like that?" She asks, pressing her thumb between my eyebrows, making my face instantly relax. "Come on Y/n. We both talked about not hiding things." She insists.
