Chapter 19 - Curry

Y/n's POV:

Scarlett goes back to Atlanta this morning. Luckily we have time to drop Ava off at school before we then head to the airport. There were a few tears, but as soon as Scarlett told Ava that it would be less than 4 weeks until she was home, and then she was back for good, she cheered up a little. I think Ava is as excited to have back for good as I am. On the car journey to the airport, I spend the whole time holding Scarlett's hand, rubbing my thumb over her knuckles to give her some comfort as silent tears fall from her eyes. 

Unfortunately, when we get to the airport, we aren't so lucky with avoiding the paparazzi this time. They know she is due back on set this evening and are camped out at the entrance to the airport. It is pretty intense, I've not experience that many people before, all with their cameras flashing trying to get as close to us as they can.

I make sure to hold Scarlett close to me to protect her as best I can from the blinding flashes. Thankfully, as she only has her duffel bag, we aren't having to worry about wheeling a trolly or a bigger bag. The questions they are shouting are not unexpected. Mainly asking if Colin's statement was true and if I was planning on sticking by her.

I really want to turn around and say that there is nothing to stick by as she hasn't cheated, but Scarlett is quick to grip me close when she feels my body react. It is still frustrating me that there is a cheating narrative even though both parties have contradicted that and there is photo evidence to show what actually happened. But I guess there will always be people that will publish and believe complete bullshit.

Thankfully once we are in the airport, the madness is left outside. The goodbye this time has a lot less tears. We are in the home straight now and she will be home by the end of the month. I know she'll end up having to go away again but it'll be nice to have some prolonged time together when she's back. We'll deal with everything else as and when it comes up.

When I leave the airport, the paparazzi are there again, but this time I am on my own and it is a weird feeling. I'm just a normal person whose girlfriend happens to be an actress. It's a lot to get used to that people are interested in me now, especially after the events that happened over the weekend. So, I just keep my head down and fight the urge to say anything to any of them and their wild accusations.

I haven't long been home when my phone goes off and I smile when I see Lizzie's name pop up. We haven't spoke since last week and I have missed her weekly round up of what had been happening on set. She would always fill me in on the funny stories or the mistakes that had been made. It was fast becoming the highlight of my week when she would call.

Y/n: Hey Lizzie, how are you?

Lizzie: Hey Y/n/n, I'm good. I was just calling to check in with you. The hassle you had at the airport is already doing it's rounds online. It looked pretty intense, how you feeling?

I can't help but smile at Lizzie. I love that she has taken the time to check in with me to make sure that I was doing alright. The paparazzi are the worst bit of being famous for her and they so often set off her anxiety. So the fact she is calling to see how I'm doing, means a lot to me.

Y/n: It wasn't the most fun experience. We've been pretty lucky since we started dating actually. There have only been a handful of occasions where we've been swarmed, today just happened to be the worse. But with everything that has happened over the last few days, I'm not surprised. 

Lizzie: You did well though, keeping your head down and ignoring them. It didn't go unnoticed how protective you were being of Scarlett. Considering this is all new to you, you are still putting other people first.

Y/n: Oh, trust me, it took so much for me not to call them out. I just don't understand their obsession with having to know everything about someone's private life, and if they don't get the story they want, they post a load of crap any way!
