Chapter 40 - Teasing and Goodbyes

Scarlett's POV:

I am so glad that we are getting a taxi back to my mom's house. I think Y/n and I got about an hour sleep last night. But I'm not complaining, it was an incredible night. And not just the sex. It was so great to have an evening just the two of us, doing something special in a moment of calm.

On the hour journey home, I fall asleep with my head rested on Y/n's shoulder. As I was drifting off, I could feel the light kisses she was placing on my head, helping to lull me to sleep. Before I know it, we're pulling up to mom's place and Y/n is gently shaking me awake.

I look up at her with tired eyes. "We're back angel." She says quietly. I sit up and stretch out. Y/n places a kiss on my forehead and gets out the car to help me out. Walking was a little difficult this morning and I was trying so hard to not let it show. Turns out I failed.

As we walked to the front door, Hunter opened it with a big smirk on his face. I was not awake enough for the teasing that is coming our way. "Someone had a fun night." He teases and I'm quick to land a punch on his shoulder. "Fuck off Hunt!" I hiss and he just laughs. "Wow, you'd think you'd be in a better mood after getting laid!" My eyes widen it his word and I can hear Y/n try and stifle a laugh. "Don't you start." I growl at her, and she gulps.

Eventually Hunter moves out of the way, not before making a few more comments. When we get in to the hallway, we hear the sound of little feet running in our direction. Y/n lets got of my hand to greet the speeding child and picks her up swings her around! "Hi bug! Did you have a nice night?" Y/n asks her full of enthusiasm. How does she seem like she's had a full 8 hours sleep?!

"We had so much fun. We made burgers and had ice cream. Melanie and me coloured and we played loads of games! They taught me floor is lava. I can't wait to play it at home!" She exclaims and I look up at Hunter who's grinning. "She was very good. She beat all of us!" He informed us and Y/n smiled proudly.

Y/n put Ava on the floor, and she walks over to me with her arms open. "I missed you Scarly!" She says as I go to bend down. Let me tell you, my legs do not want to cooperate. I get down ok, but standing up is very difficult, especially with a child around my neck. "Scar are you ok?" Mom asks joining us in the hallway.

I hear Hunter snigger and I glare at him. "All good mom." I reply, not wanting to get into any sort of conversation. "Are you sure? You look like you're in pain." She probes further. "Just slept funny is all." I reply walking into the living room. "I don't think there was much sleeping." I heard Hunter mumble and I turn, once again glaring at him.

Y/n seeing my look gave him a punch to the arm. "Ow! What was that for?" He asks angrily, turning to Y/n. "You upset my girlfriend." She smirks and walks to join me. "That's my girl." I husk to her as she reaches me. I lean up and peck her lips. "Haven't you had enough of each other yet?" I was surprised when I hear mom's voice this time. God give me strength.

It's Y/n's turn to blush. Clearly, she finds it worse being called out by my mother than my brother. "At least I know you're not hurt." She adds on giving Y/n a wink and walking off. "I cannot be dealing with those two this morning." I complain, dropping to the sofa, holding Ava close.

We spend most of the morning relaxing in the living room. Thankfully the teasing stopped, and Dad was able to join us after having to head home for a bit earlier. Y/n and Ava leave today whilst I stay to work on some filming for Rough Night. Although I'm not looking forward to not seeing them for three weeks, I'm so excited that when I get home, they'll be moving in!

We decide to have a family lunch at the local diner before carrying onto the airport. The others insist on joining us, wanting to spend as much time with them as they could which I thought was sweet.
