Scarlett's POV:

When my eyes flutter open this morning, I'm instantly greeted by my beautiful, sleeping fiancé. Our naked bodies are entangled together as my head rests on her chest. There is a slither of sunlight shining through a gap in the blind and it's landing perfectly on the ring sat on Y/n's finger. I can't believe yesterday happened and that it all went without a hitch. The love of my life agreed to marry me, and we spent many hours into the night, showing just how much we love each other.

I take Y/n's hand in mine and lift it up to meet my lips as I place a kiss on her ring. It's not often that I'm awake before Y/n, but I'm taking this moment to enjoy the quiet and admire the woman laid next to me. My eyes trail over her exposed chest and I smirk to myself when they land on the few marks, I left to mark my territory. Though the ring will be a permanent symbol of that now!

My gaze moves upward to her long neck, defined jawline and rosy, red cheeks. Her lips are slightly parted as quiet breaths fall from her mouth. I run my finger gently over her features, along her cheekbones and eyebrows. I let out a little giggle when her nose scrunches up at the sensation. It's so cute. I will never tire of waking up next this incredible woman and admiring her perfect form.

As Y/n starts to stir, I place feather like kisses all over her face, which causes her to let out a small groan. "My favourite way to wake up." She mumbles with her morning voice, her eyes still closed but a smile firmly on her face. "It's my favourite way to wake up my fiancé." I reply and her eyes snap open. She rolls over so she's hover over me, the warmth of her skin against mine makes my heart race. "Good morning my beautiful fiancé." She smiles, leaning down and capturing my lips in a loving kiss. I pull her flush against me as we have a mini make out session.

Y/n leans back, her eyes still closed, and she flops on her back. "Yesterday was perfect. It almost feels like a dream." She says, holding her hand in the air to look at the ring on her finger. I turn my body so I'm back to snuggling into her. She wraps her arm around me and places a kiss against my head. "How did you manage to arrange everything yesterday?" She asks and I get excited that I can finally share it with her.

"It took a lot of planning and the luck that everyone was free for the day. I knew roughly what I wanted to do, and I just had to work out where I wanted you to go and what I wanted to say to you. It was actually really hard to narrow it down to just twelve places. I could have done double that, and it would have still all been meaningful." I explain and I notice that she is looking at me as I speak.

"Writing those notes was actually the easiest thing. I knew exactly what I wanted to tell you. It was then getting everyone to know when and where they had to be. It was like wrangling cats sometimes! Though your dad helped a lot with dealing with the man children from work! Which I am grateful for." I share and she laughs. "Wow, dad actually being the grown up for once! Who would have thought?" She jokes. "Well, actually he was great through it all. He wanted it to be perfect for you as much as I did." I tell her and a warm smile washes over her face. "How long did everyone know?" She asks.

I look up at her with a grin. "Only our families knew what I was actually planning on doing. Everyone else just thought I was doing something nice for you after finding out about your deployment. They actually found out when I got down on one knee. Though I'm sure some of them will have worked it out before that." Y/n looks shocked when I tell her. "And Ava knew the whole time?" She clarifies and I nod. "She was the first one I asked."

Flashback

Since Christmas, I can't get the thought of asking Y/n to marry me out of my head. Mom's right, there are no timelines for a relationship and if it's right, then why not take the chance. I guess I had always thought that Y/n would be the one to propose, but the more I thought about it, the more excited I got at the thought of asking her.
