Sunday. Race Day.

It was time for the Monaco Grand Prix.

At seven' am Fiona was already wide awake. She hadn't really slept at all. There was too much running through her mind. She was exploding of nervousness.
Yesterday had been a lot. There was her talk with Elena. Hearing about the troubles between Pierre and Esteban unsettled her and it made her determined to try and do everything she could to bring those to idiots back together.

Fiona had always been a person that couldn't stand stress and drama. She always was one to put the needs of others over her own. Sometimes it could get a bit too excessive as it would not always be good for her own health. In this case however, she knew both of her friends had her back. Always.

That's why she wasn't going to stop having theirs. After all, they've always been good friends. She strongly believed it was the best for them to try and put whatever was really bothering them behind them. They were only a hand full of people that understood what their life was like. They needed people like that to rely on. Friendships weren't easy in their sport, but when you had them, they were the real kind.

Then there was Charles' crash in qualifying and him getting the pole position for today. She was beyond happy for him and so proud. Her heart was threatening to burst whenever she had thought about it since yesterday evening.

Of course, Charles already was a Grand Prix winner, which to be honest sometimes still sounded unreal to her.
To him as well. He had already achieved so many of his dreams and goals, it was hard to wrap her head around it from time to time. Realizing that the boy who she cheered for on the side of the karting tracks so many years ago, was now actually an experienced Formula One race winner, driving for no other team than Ferrari.

He had worked so hard for this and it had already started to pay off in the best way.

Scoring pole position at your home race though? That was something so special to him and she knew just how much this would mean to him.

It wasn't only her and his friends and family that were bursting with pride. She knew he would be too. Even though he was a little upset with himself yesterday, she could see it in his eyes how proud of himself he was. How happy he was.

They all knew what this meant. If everything went well now, if he would do his job and there weren't any unfortunate hiccups, he would mostly likely climb out of his car a winner of the Monaco Grand Prix. A winner of his home race.

God, she was so nervous already.

It weren't only the chances of him winning, that made her nervous about today. No. It was also the crash. Even though he walked away fine, her fears flared up big time. It didn't help that Monaco was one of the hardest and most challenging tracks on the calendar. Accidents were bound to happen here.

Because of that, she made Elle promise to not leave her side durning the entirety of the race.

The two girls had talked over the phone yesterday night, when they both got home from the paddock. Helping the other to chose an outfit for the next day, seeing as the weather wasn't what they anticipated it to be.

Fiona still needed to talk to Elle about her and Charles. Especially after what happened yesterday in his drivers room.

She still couldn't believe what happened and had to remind herself again and again that she was not dreaming. Not imagining it all in her head.
