He makes Colby not lonely. He tells him he's pretty and perfect. He listens to colby rant about his dreams of becoming a YouTuber, and he tells him that he's smart and he's worth it.

He tells Colby to take down the photo and keep it only for him because Colby is special. He's special, and he should be protected and cared for. He tells Colby he's too cute for the world to see. He tells Colby he's everything.

He makes Colby not lonely.

Or

Colby gets into an abusive relationship when he's far too young and far too lonely.

Colbys lonely.

It's indescribable loneliness. One that eats away at him and promises him nothing but a life of emptiness, nothing but hate and despair and pain. He sits in his bed, blanket wrapped snug around his shoulders, staring at the screen as something plays. -yet he sees nothing. the screen is black, or maybe a wash of colours, too blurry and disoriented. truly, he sees nothing.-

He's lonely.

And today it hurts. it hurts, it stings. it feels worse than the burn of razors on his skin, the sharp point of his nails dragging along his arms, the ache of bruises from his own fists coming down harshly on himself to dull out the loneliness.

He's lonely.

And he hates it.

and he doesn't want to be lonely anymore.

Colby makes an account on social media, where he thinks no one will find his stupid little posts. He looks up funny animal videos and finds a small account dedicated to dogs getting scared by cute cats and other adorable things.

He follows other kids, kids like him.

A burden

That's what they call him. He doesn't go to school, it's been a month, and his mom can't find any more excuses. -but she doesn't need to. they're glad he's gone. he knows it.-

he wonders if people in his class miss him.

They dont.

He doesn't leave his room. His Mom leaves for work, sometimes for nights and weeks, and so Colby will eat cold ramen from the fridge because it takes too long to microwave and he wants to hide under the covers.

He finds this trend, of little boys like him dressed in too-large shirts and really long socks, cat ears drawn onto their heads and little whiskers.

It's cute.

Colby wants to feel cute.

He's skinny with these too blue eyes and brown hair. He wants to feel cute. So he shrugs off the cover, and he's too lazy to change, and he thinks a plain t-shirt and cat pawed socks are fine. He takes a photo, and the flash blinds him, but he doesn't want to turn on the lights.

He takes the photo.

-he can be cute. draws tiny ears and a cute nose.-

He posts it.

And then he meets him .
