Mentions of self harm
—————————✢————————
Standing in front of his friend Sams body bricked to the floor, his hands limp by his side as long lasting stares burned into his soul. Feeling his layers of numbness and security grimble away Sams lips wavered with the salty tears that ran onto them. His eyes hooded and dull. Knowing his friends were waiting for his response Sam didn't bother sniffling to collect his fallen snot. Instead he lit it run down his nose until it dripped onto the floor along with the already fallen burden that was himself.
No longer trying to stay composed nor collected Sam answered with a shrug of his bony shoulders. The words "I'm fine" rolling off of his tongue with such force it made Colby's heart sink. Looking at the boy dumb founded everyone shook there heaving heads. Sams mind clanking like silver spoons, his thoughts grinding like sandpaper, the hurt and invasion of hopelessness eating away at his emotions until sadness wasn't a choice but better yet his gift. If he wasn't sad then numb was what he received, the heaviness of his body weighing him down and sogging him to mush. Knowing he was lying Sam smiled ever so brokenly, the curls of his cracked lips aching with such unfamiliarity.
Hearing his empty stomach growl Sam gently placed his slit covered wrist over it, his over sized hoodie masking his injury's and insecurity's. Feeling the water he downed slush and splash in his intestines Sam tried to cover up the loud gargles with coughs. The only thing he's strong enough to do being laying in bed. Which always results in him starving, even if someone does bring him food.
"Sam, you don't need to lie to us. We're here to help you" gesturing with his hands Colby's voice was soft and soothing. The littles lids lazily making there way to his face. His crystal blue eyes drenched in tears and his eye lashes spiked with sorrow.
"You can't help me colbs" talking in just over a whisper Sams eyes held there focus on Colby's, the others watching with tight frowns. "Don't say that bub." Shaking his head colby let his mouth morf into a silent sob. "P-please don't say that"
Watching Colby's lids drool with salty fear Sam couldn't contain the screaming battle going on within his head. He knew he shouldn't of came down stairs. He's the reason why Colby's crying, everything's his fault.
"I'm sorry colby, please don't, don't cry" wobbling on Unsteady knees Sam tried his best to sound genuine. His fake smile making the brunettes heart stink with remorse. How could he of let Sam get this bad. "I'm fine remember. You don't need to cry"
"But your not Sam. Your not fine, and until you realize that I don't think you'll ever be" letting Colby's words sink in the monstrous blonde bute who was days away from starvation laughed tiredly. "I'm fine colby. Im always fine." Turning to walk back up to the safety of his room Sams feet burned and his head spun. Placing his hands out to catch his balance the younger toppled over with weakness. The deep breaths emitting from his cracked lips shallowing. "Sam!" Rushingly racing to Sams side Colby caught his beauty with angelic arms. His tears rolling down and landing onto Sams pail face. "Sam n-no!" Kneeling to set Sams lumped body onto the floor colby swiped his thumb over Sams hollowed cheek bone. The coldness of Sams skin making his fingers tingle. How didn't he notice Sams hurt sooner.
"C-corey call 911!" Whimpering Colby couldn't contain his inner screams. He felt like he had failed his best friend. The hurt and pain foaming from within feeling all to painful. He felt responsible for Sams well-being. He knew he should of pushed harder, took him to a doctor or forced him to tell him what was wrong. Crying and praying everyone surrounded Sam on the floor. The sound of distance sirens blasting threw Colby's ears as Sams body trinkled and softy flattered.
