His hand smoothly rung in a small circle around his steaming hot coffee cup. The metal spoon in his hand making the dark brown of the substance swirl into a Wurl pool before it did the whole process all over again. Paying no mind to the fact that some was spilling from the edges of his all white glass china Colby sighed off into space. His mind wondering.
Lent over in a hunch form the younger rested his head atop his other hand. His feet tucked under his bum as he sat cris-crossed-applesauce in the diners seating booth. His ears being incased by the soothing sound of rain pouring along the glass window just to his left, a deep frown creasing his face as he listened. Why did everything seem so soothing but hectic at the same time? And how come he's the only one being effected. Letting these thoughts lap his mind he almost didn't notice when a waitress approached him. The tall blonde giving him a small smile before a soft, "here's some napkins" parted passed his perfectly shaped lips. Looking up at the boy with narrowed lids colby looked at the napkins with confusion. He never asked for any napkins.
"I-um I didn't......."
"Your cup sir" pipping up the blonde beauty pointed at Colby's coffee mug. The white thing covered in spilled coffee. Jolting Colby quickly took the napkins. He forgot he was still steering his mug.
"Um, t-thank you" wiping up the mess Colby balled the now stained napkins up before placing them besides him on the table. Watching, Sam smiled sadly at him. He's been watching colby for the passed month now. Small guy always comes in around sevenAM, morning shift, with a frown speckled amongst his gloomed face. He sits down in the same baby blue seating booth, the one closest to the window and orders himself a small black coffee.
Usually thanking the waiter that brings him the liquid with a soft smile and 'thank you'. Sam would always watch the mystery boy dazed off as he drank. His eyebrows always furrowed and his shoulders always hunched. He's wanted to go over to him a few times and ask what was wrong, maybe he needed Something? but he's never gotten the chance or the courage to do so, untill now.
"No problem lad. I'm sam by the way, Sam golbach"
Introducing himself Sam stook out his hand firmly. The soulful act only earring a nod from the boy.
"I'm not interested" looking at the hand before him with lazy lids Colby's body screamed from within.
'Talk to him you idiot!' Mentally scolding himself Clolby muttered a quite "shit" under his breath. He always seems to do this. Push everyone away. But it's not his fault exactly, he just doesn't want to be hurt by letting others in. Even talking to them can be painful to the antisocial boy.
Taken back Sam dropped his hand apologetically, he knew it was a bad idea to talk to him. "Oh, my bad." Chuckling nervously Sam nodded to himself before waking away from the mysterious boy. All he wanted to do was make his day, see a smile part across his face. Watching as he went colby dug his nails into his fingers. Toying with the bony limbs as thoughts rushed his corrupted mind. "No wait!" Speaking a little louder then he anticipated Colby looked around for a second. Sam turning swiftly on his heels in hopes that the boy he's been obsessing over for weeks would give him a chance to speak to him.
Bitting his lip as he gazed around the pretty empty diner Colby made the bold decision to speak again. This time his voice soft and wavery. "C-can you stay....just for a few minutes at least?" Trying his best to hide his smile Sam nodded softy but on the inside he was screaming. He's never wanted to talk to someone so much. Maybe he would tell him why he's always alone, or why he always wore long sleeves. Maybe he would even tell him a little about his home life or about some of his friends. Taking the seat on the opposite side of the small boy Sam rested his hands uneasily in his lap. He didn't know how to act, this has never happened to him before. Costumers dont usually invite him to sit with them, but he wasn't complaining if it was with Colby.
"I um...I-" suddenly taking back ever inviting the stranger over Colby struggled for words. His palms beginning to sweat from the fear pulsing threw him. "I'm uh, sorry for being rude and saying that I w-wasn't interested. It was wrong of m-me to do so"
Listing to the boy stutter Sam couldn't help but hear the insurance in his voice. He sounded like he was being forced to say those words, like someone had him at gun point. "Oh no biggy man, your alright. I was just trying to introduce myself, I understand if I came off strong or interrupted your thinking." Shocked Colby shook his head, his face turning into worry. "No not at all! You d-didn't do anything wrong as I said it was all me. I'm the one to blame" watching the boy crumble it seemed Sam could tell something was bothering him. The males face was Pale with hints of red hues. His cheeks were hollowed in, almost resembling a skeleton. And the look of constant sadness always stormed his eyes.
"It's nobody's fault. It was just a little miscommunication that's all"
trying to ease the anxious boy Sam gave him a look of reassurance. His hands suddenly lifting from his lap and being placed onto the table. "N-no it's mine. It's always my fault. Gosh, why do i have to be so stupid!" Suddenly bursting out the boy who looked all to fragile from afar started to cry. His thin walls concaving in and all his bitter evil thoughts eating away at him. They all snuck up on him all too easily. Like how a bear stalks his pray. Only in his case, he was always the pray.
"No, no, no don't say that. Your not stupid. We just got off on the wrong foot"
"No I always fuck everything up. I-I'm just a fuck up ok. I don't belong here and this just p-proves it"
Completely struck Sam made the challenging decision to grab the boys hand. The limb feeling cold under his touch as it flinched. "Don't say that. Look at me. I said look at me" looking up with a flushed face Colby didn't bother to wipe away his tears. His crystal blue eyes leaking salty liquid and letting the crystals break when they rolled off his cheeks and into his lap. "You are not a fuck up. You are beautiful and you deserve to be here ok? Everybody does" trying his best to switch the boys mindset about things sam could feel his heart ache. He never expected this to happen.
"But what if I don't?"
"You do" pressing Sam rubbed his thumb along Colby's palm. He's never seen someone more broken before. The boys tone and the way he looked at him made him feel almost responsible for not approaching him sooner. He looked completely and utterly shattered. And all he wanted to do was fix him. "But I don't" voice so cracked and broken Sam almost couldn't understand it colby only shattered more under Sams gaze. "I've ruined every bond, e-every good think in my life because I was sad. N-nobody wants someone that is sad. There j-just useless!" Letting out droutfull sobs Colby swore his breathing hitched when the waitress from across him suddenly was next to him, his arms incasing him in the warmest hug he's had in a while.
"Your not useless. I may not know you but I want to get to. You may be feeling like nobody cares or that nobody loves you at the moment but I do. I love you and I don't even know you, and I promise you" pulling tighter Sam let a single tear slip passed his lid when he felt the broken boy shutter. "I'll do everything in my power to make you happy again. I don't know what broke you, but I'm gonna fix you"
Not knowing what to do or say Colby froze in the embrace of the man he's been praying would save him ever sense he walked into the diner. He froze and just let the touch of the man he wishes so dearly he spoken to earlier melt away any and all hate for himself. And for the first time in a long time colby smiled. It was small and barley noticeable but it happened. "T-thank you" nodding Sam only pulled colby closer to him. He made a promise to himself today, a promise to fix the boy he's seen broken for months, and a promise to himself that he would make him the happiest man ever someday.
"No need to thank me" blinking away his tears the two sat completely quite and still for a while. the only movement being there steady breathing untill colby took a small sip from his black coffee mug. The feeling of warmth from not only the coffee but Sam slowly chipping away his broken heart. And that's when he finally realized, he did have hope. And hope had him.
