"..don't step on the vines." nancy spoke. y/n wasn't really paying attention to anyone, she was worried about max. max, who was currently running out of time.

"hey, babe. you okay?" steve asked his girlfriend, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"yeah, uhm, yeah, i'm fine." she lied. she was really scared for max.

randomly, robin got dragged to the wall. her arms and legs were wrapped by tentacles and her neck started getting surrounded.

"nancy! steve! y/n!" she screamed for help.

right when they all went to help, steve and nancy get pulled up to the wall, same as robin.

y/n's feet were stuck to the ground. she was frozen in fear.

all of a sudden, she wasn't in the upside down anymore. she was somewhere else.

"don't be afraid, y/n." a deep voice spoke.

"it'll all be over soon."

"y/n!!" steve yelled. she wasn't moving. she looked lifeless.

once the three were let down from the wall, they ran straight to y/n.

they were screaming, screaming for her to wake up.

suddenly she started levitating. she was getting higher in the air.

y/n was scared.

"no, no, please." she begged.

vecna didn't listen.

nancy, steve and robin were yelling for her to wake up.

all of a sudden, her bones broke. all of them.

nancy gasped through sobs, robin screamed and steve let out the loudest sobs.

y/n was only one of vecna's newest victims.

as her body fell, steve fell to his knees. his loving girlfriend was dead.

the one that he met in kindergarten when he lied saying his cookie fell on the ground when he really ate it so he could get another.

the girl that got them matching onesies in the 4th grade.

the same girl that he took to the 8th grade dance, and the one that stayed with him, through thick and thin.

no matter the problems.

his girlfriend that always took his clothes.

his sobs filled the whole room.

nancy's eyes were tear filled and her face was red.

robins face had tear stains covering the surface of her cheeks.

"steve, steve, we have to go." nancy cried.

steve responded with more cries.

"no! no, y/n's fine. we can save her. we can help." he shuddered.

"steve.." robin began.

"steve, she's dead."

"no, no, she's not. she isn't dead."

robin sniffed and looked up.

"STEVE. she's dead." nancy sobbed.

steve let out a sob and punched the ground several times.

nancy and robin helped him up as he cried into his hands.

"no, y/n.." he mumbled.

nancy wrapped her arms around the crying boy.

they killed him. they killed vecna.

steve sniffed.

"asshole." he growled.

he got what he wanted, but the hole in his heart wasn't filled.

steve was still in so much pain without his now dead girlfriend.
