Justin’s Point Of View:

After last night I couldn’t help, but think there is more to Lily Hale than what meets the eye or I have been told. As much as she told me about herself, I feel that I’m still lacking pieces to the puzzle. Pieces that only one person could have…..Scooter.

I haven’t heard much of Scooter’s thoughts about Lily. I don’t know exactly how he feels about her. What are his thoughts on the their relationship? Not that it’s any of my business, but I want to see if their stories add together. Scooter being a very hard case to crack, I have to approach him logical way.

I stand at the doorway of Scooter work office waiting for to go noticed. Yes being gone to work all day and night, he really needed a room to workin the comfort of his own home.

“Yes Justin?” Scooter says dryly, looking up momentarily. He sat in front of a laptop engrossed in whatever he was hard at work on. The bright light reflected on his glasses.

I casually invited myself taking a look at my surroundings. There had to be at least a filled cabinet smack directly in ever corner. Most of them had manila folders pecking out of them.

While bookshelves were nearly to the ceiling, it was like something seen in a library. At last there was Scooter’s desk in the middle of it all, cluttered with stacks of papers on each corner.

“What are you doing?” I asked the obvious, taking a seat in leather chair before him. I felt like I was being interviewed for a job.

A loud raspy sigh filled the room, as he shut the laptop, colliding his hands together firmly placing them on top of it.

“I was just finishing up on a work assignment. You caught me at a good time. What’s up?” Scooter says removing his glasses giving his full attention. I shrugged using my elbows to push myself up.

“I was wondering if you wanted to hang out.” I said, as if it was everyday thing. I mean how could that of all things sound suspicious? Unless my body language or the sound of my voice gave it off. I tried not to think about it too much as I waited for an response.

“Since when do you want to hang out with me?” Scooter raised an brow in suspense. I guess I didn’t think thoroughly before I actually said it. Made a lot more sense up top, but it was rare that we ever spent time together.

“I was just saying we haven’t had much of a day out together meaning us two only.” I quickly added on, not wanting to sound as if I wanted Lily to tag along. Of course I wanted her too, but this is something I have to get Scooter alone for.

“You’re right, I haven’t been a very good hostess to your welcome.” Scooter admitted, loosing up his tie in the same process of standing. He came over to my side of the desk. I glanced up at him from head to toe.

“Are you going to wear that?” I questioned his attire that formally fit for a work place not a sports bar. He looked at himself up and down.

“I suppose you're right let me go get changed.” He says putting up one finger, leaving the room shortly.

I placed both hands behind my head. It was easier to get him out of the house than I expected.

Lily’s Point of View

The house was quiet, too quiet in my favor. Usually I have to beat on the other side of the door yelling for Justin to turn down his music. Something about today was just off. I flipped a bookmark back in the section I left off reading to place it back onto the shelf.

I slipped down the hallway towards Justin’s room, taking advantage of the I don’t have to knock, I’m welcomed whenever rule. Turning the door knob, I found nothing out of the ordinary.
