Scooter dipped his head to place a chaste kiss onto Lily’s lip before pulling back to see a smile plastered on her face. After a simple wave, he wondered off to his park car satisfied with the start of his day. He couldn’t have been more content with the way things have been going.
The two of them have been inseparable ever since their little talk they had back in the dining area. To say it scared him straight was the least. Putting the disappointing event behind, he began to focus on the future. The future that seemed to be closer than expected.
Like any other day, Scooter had work to be done in the office but it would have to wait because for once he consider the location he is on his way to more important. Arriving shortly at the destination he parked his car in a desired spot before getting out closing the door behind him. A timid Catherine Monroe came within his front view.
“You’re late.” She pointed out with a stern look crossing her features. Scooter was already beginning to regret taking Keith’s advice on getting Monroe’s help when he clearly knew she could be a pain. There was no way he could find help at such short notice. The only reason he was willing to put up with her negative attitude because a woman’s intuition was much needed for the occasion.
“I’m sorry.” He mustered the fakest apology he could by having to force the statement through gritted teeth. He gave in hoping it would save him from being bickered by her the remainder of the day.
She perched her lips deciding whether or not she should be forgiving while before moving back and forth on the edges of her heels. Since Catherine had a weak spot for Scooter she forgave him rather quickly.
“I suppose it’s alright.” Monroe spoke in that tone. The tone that was flirty, but professional at the same time. The tone that she only used with him. Scooter merely shot her a look that said not here.
“So why are we here?” She questioned quickly changing her tone and subject, while thrusting a thumb over her shoulder at the tall structure building with several windows that have some of the finest jewels on display.
“Are you going lace me in pearls Mr. Braun?” Monroe purposely used his last name in a way of saying she was very professional.
Scooter shook his head while ignoring her negotiations to allure him in.
“Come on.” Scooter replied, walking a few feet ahead of her. Yes he was using Monroe. For the wrong reasons? No. He had one thing on his mind and that was Lily. Catherine’s obsession with Scooter was probably going to be laid to rest after she figures out the truth behind the jewelry.
Justin’s Point of View
“Give me one reason why you don’t want to celebrity your birthday?” I asked yet again, following Lily in and out of several different rooms of the house refusing to let this matter be avoided.
She thrashed her head back letting out a exaggerated sigh in the same process.
“Because…” She sang out, still not giving a elaborated answer. I was beginning to grow frustrated with her choose of words or lack of enthusiasm in the idea of having a party. I mean who doesn’t want to celebrate the day they were born? In my opinion it doesn’t make sense and not only that it seemed out of the ordinary for Lily.
Before she could make her way into a new room leaving me behind to follow her hopelessly around. I grabbed onto her slightly exposed hips gently pushing her up against the wall forcing our bodies together to cage Lily in. Her teeth grazed her bottom lip holding in the breath that’s beginning to be released. I leaned my forehead onto hers while slightly leaning as if I was going crash our lips together.
