Lily’s Point of View

The middle of the week arrived quickly. Which is often the most busy day for Scott and I. I couldn’t recall the last time I had a Wednesday off. But that’s the price you have to pay if you want to make a living.

I had a photo shoot arranged later on. I was chosen to be on the cover of this month issue of Cosmopolitan. A great honor since I’m huge fan of their magazines.

So I was excited about this opportunity. To make time fly by, I decided to go on my morning run. The variety of music blasted through my ears as my iPod stuck deep down into my sweats. I must of ran for a mile as I felt myself feel energetic more than tired.

I arrived home an hour shortly to find Scott and Justin at the breakfast table. I wasn’t in the mood for greasy favorites that I usually devour. Instead I settled for a cereal bar and apple.

Only for clothing fitting purposes. I couldn’t be show up to the shoot bloated or I will never hear the last of it. I sat by Scott who’s eyes were fixed on the New York Times newspaper.

I leaned over to him placing a quick kiss on his lips. Lingering longer than I should. I heard gagging noises interrupting from the other side of the table. “Oh how childish of you.” I said as my eyes slanted towards Justin, as if I could shoot daggers at him with them. “Oh how disgusting of you. We have to eat at this table. So I would mind it you didn‘t make out here.” Justin said mocking me as took a bite of the pancakes that I wanted to politely depose into his lap.

“Are you perhaps jealous that you don’t have anyone to make out with here?” I was being quite childish for egging on this argument. Oh what the hell. He started it, I plan on finishing it.

“Trust me if I had a girl, we would be doing more than making out on this table.” Justin replied as he grazed over my exposed stomach and chest that was only covered by a sporty crop tank. The famous smirk spread across his face. Before I could response to his inappropriate gesture, Scott decided it was his turn to have a say.

“That’s enough you two. You know yesterday I thought you the both of you were getting along at the golf session, but looks like I was fooled” Scott said annoyed by the both of our behavior. I don’t see why he’s getting so worked up. It’s not that big of deal. “Well he started it.” I protested waving my hand over at Justin. Justin fixed his mouth to respond, but Scott came in once again.

“I don’t care who started it. The both of you have to stop. I will not have the both of you bickering like children.” Scott but his foot down once again. “Calm down, Dad. It’s no need to get worked up.” Justin said as he held up his hands in surrender. Still not taking what Scott was saying seriously. I hate to see Scott upset but that was very humorous to test him. What is wrong with me? One minute I’m arguing with Justin about his childish behavior, the next I’m laughing at his immature ways in my mind. I suppose it’s only funny when it’s not towards me.

“Speaking of work. I have get going. Lily I need you to take Justin with you today.” Scott said as my eyes snapped up towards him. “Oh no, why can’t Justin go with you?” I said, standing up tossing the napkin on my lap onto the table.

“Because I have a very important meeting. Justin will be bored out of his mind there. No telling what kind of trouble he will get into. I can’t afford to jeopardize my name. Also I don‘t want him staying alone at home.” Scott said nonchalant tone.

How dare him spring this on me at the last minute. I’ve been talking about this opportunity for months before Justin was even thought about coming here. I stood there with my arms folded as he tried to kiss me. I turned my head only allowing him to peck my cheek. “Don’t give Lily any trouble” Was Scott’s final warning to Justin before exiting the door.
