Scooter’s Point of View
I couldn’t seem to break the strong concentration I had on the scene before me. I certainly haven’t made an attempt to leave the spot where I stood. Then it dawned on me, I wasn’t just fuming to the point where my ears were red, steam practically firing from my nostrils that I’m sure were red too.
But I feel something else surge through my veins. Perhaps jealously? There was no way in hell I envied Justin or the way Lily looked at Justin. Or the fact they have been spending so much time together. Or why it’s more than obvious why I have been threatening him to stay away from Lily.
God I need nothing more right now is a drink or at least a good stack of paper work to take my mind off the bizarre scenarios it seemed to be creating at the moment. I settled upon doing the next best thing and decided to rant a close friend of mine.
After a couple of rings, just the voice I wanted to hear echoed through the phone.
“Hello.” Keith answered, loud and clear.
“Hey man.” I replied, balancing the phone between my shoulder and face. Still staring out the window in despair.
“What’s going on?” Keith asked, obviously willing to hear what I had to say.
“The same old.” I answered quickly, knowingly that he knew what I was referring to.
A deep sigh came from the other side of the phone as I waited for his response.
“You’re still on that?” Keith asked, obviously aggravated with my constant blows up about Lily and Justin.
“Well they’re still doing whatever they have.” I stated, motioning my hands around to get a gesture of what I meant.
Yet again I was accompanied by another sigh.
“You know man, I’m going to be honest with you since I‘m your friend. To be completely honest, I think you’re having constant false alarms. Lily was only doing what you said by being nice to Justin. As for Justin, you know he’s a total flirt. But his intentions are harmless. It just a innocent petty little friendship, that will all blow over once he leaves.” Keith explained. “There’s no need to be jealous.” His last statement made my ears perk up in interest.
There was no way I was jealous of the “petty little friendship” Justin and Lily shared. Sure they spend time together. Yes he makes her laugh out loud in that adorable high pitch screech that haven’t heard in forever.
Then of course, it made my skin crawl to see the way he looks at her. How he cheekily just placed a flower in her hair while the two of them are out front gardening.
“I’m not the jealous type.” I informed, through gritted teeth. I was annoyed beyond belief. Yeah that’s the word, Annoyed.
“Whatever you say.” Keith replied, in a unconvinced tone. “If you’re so hung up on this theory of them having a so called affair. Then why don’t you talk to Lily instead of Justin for once?” He asked.
