Justin’s Point of View

Bon Appétit!

Placing a delicate white lily in the small vase located at the corner of the breakfast tray to give the finishing touches on the hard work I put into creating Lily‘s favorite breakfast.

After burning a few pieces of toast and a thumb. The final outcome was toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, and a large glass of orange juice that made the meal look appetizing. Hopefully it would be editable to.

Grabbing a hold to the ends of the tray, I manage to make it upstairs in one peace. Slipping into the main bedroom quietly, I placed the tray down onto the side table that I somehow manage to find in the dark. The faint sounds of Lily snoring was the only thing that could be heard.

A smile pulled at the edges of my lips as I slang back the covers exposing her long tan legs and upper portion that had a over sized shirt clinging to it. Her long blonde hair was sprawled out on the satin pillow. Her eyes fluttered as her breaths were soft and low. Adorable would be one of the many words I’d consider using to describe the scene before me.

Taking one last glance, I walked over to curtains that was longing for the sunny rays that are beaming to be inside. Pulling the long drapes back quickly, a unsatisfied groan could be heard clearly.

“Rise and shine baby.” I smiled, knowing very well she wasn’t a morning person. But today she would have to be. I was greeted again with another moan once I plopped down on the free space Scooter usually laid giving her a gentle shake.

“Justin I’m trying to sleep.” Lily mumbled in a low voice, turning onto her side while tossing a pillow across her face at the best attempt to hide from the world.

“Oh no.” I said, refusing to let her fall into another deep slumber. “It’s your birthday. Get up and jump around.” I began, to move my lower half to make the bed bounce.

“That’s the point. I’m getting old, I need my rest.” Lily spoke as if she was being emitted into a retirement home. I sneered standing up, snatching away her privileges of covers and pillows.

She shot up admittedly with a cold look taking over her features. But that soon escalated into a look of surprise once she saw I was holding a the tray of food that took hours to prepare. However it was all worth it to see her happy. Placing breakfast down in front of her. I pulled Lily into a embrace while lifting her chin up to place a soft kiss onto her lips that were immediately sucked into her mouth. I looked down giving her a questioning look.

“I have morning breath.” Lily mumbled, in between slit fingers that cupped her mouth in security. I laughed softly as she brushed past me into the bathroom.

The soft click of the door caught my attention as Lily reappeared minutes later. The usual spark gleamed in her eyes while her long hair that I found myself getting lost in whenever I played with sat on top of her head.

Her eyes scanned over the tray before settling on to the folded note I placed directly next to the utensils. Picking it up, I could tell the way her eyes moved left and right of the paper she was reading. She bit down on the bottom of her lip trying to resist the urge to smile but her rosy cheeks gave away that she touched by my kind words.

Dear Lily, you looked so adorable asleep. I almost couldn’t bring myself to wake you up

(key word almost since you’re reading this). I’m hoping breakfast in bed is a great way to start off your birthday.

“You didn’t have to go through so much trouble.” She titled her head to side observing my presence making sure not to miss any detail.
