Lily’s Point of View:

Being notified about the banquet on Saturday night, I was left with the option of finding an legitimate excuse of not going the entire Sunday.

I dearly love Scott, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell him how much I didn’t want to go. It wasn’t that I was an coward or he had total control over me.

I the whole ordeal turn into a huge argument. I don’t think I could survive the process of making up and having to deal with another date again. I’m still side eyeing Scott for his sudden change of his behavior over the weekend.

I understand work is important, but not to be a pushy girlfriend or anything, but I would like to come first for once. And that’s exactly why I’m putting my foot down tonight.

My thoughts were interrupted by an aggressive knock on the bedroom door. “Come in.” I made sure I cleared my throat loudly after my statement. The sound of Scott’s dress shoes rubbing against the carpet made a sound as he made his entrance.

“What are you still doing in bed?” He motioned towards my way, I laid slouchy in bed with the tissues surrounded me for an dramatic effect. I bought my hand to my mouth to cough before looking up at him tiredly. “I think I’ve caught a cold. Perhaps a summer cold.” I replied, to make myself sound more logical. Scott rolled his eyes before grabbing a hold to head, rubbing his temple in a rotating motion.

“Gosh Lily of all nights?” Scott sucked air through his teeth. If I’m not mistaken I may of heard a few muttered curse words. “Well I didn’t plan on catching this bug.” I said, on my behalf feeling more sympathy for myself rather than him. I blew my nose loudly just as Scott were to speak.

“Do you think you can pull through just for tonight?” I felt as it was more of a command rather than a peaceful waking for the god forsaking event. How dare him. I could sitting on my death bed, he asking if I can pull through. A bit of reverse psychology could help at this moment.

“How about you forget about this event and come take care of me.” I tired my best to sound seductive as possible despite my stuffy nose and raspy throat. “That sounds nice, but this a very important for my banquet. I wish you could of make. I suppose I’m going alone.” I was this close to starting an argument, but a much softer knock was a made on the door.

“You can come in.” Scott said, knowing what was to happen next if someone didn’t come barging in sooner or later. Saved by Maddie this time, but I guarantee I will get a word in.

A tray was placed on my lap, that was centered by siring bowl of soup with a tall glass of orange juice on the side. Maddie seriously didn’t have to go through this trouble, since it was her off day. I really felt terrible. “Maddie you didn’t have to.” I said, giving her grateful smile.

“It’s no problem Mrs. Hale. Sorry to interrupt You and Mr. Braun. I hope you feel better.” Maddie didn’t stay long as she excused herself. I was left alone with Scott once again. “Listen I’m already running late, so feel better.” Scott said, not having a edge of sincere in his tone. Once I didn’t reply, he stormed over towards the door. I jumped as I heard the door slam.

I sat there for moment as I wondered what happened to my Scott. The Scott I use to know would of belled an event at the last minute no matter what the case might have been. When I was sick, he would be the one to bring breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And to top it off stay in bed all day with me.

He could of cared less if I got him sick. The only thing he wanted to do was make me feel better. It’s funny how things change after an year.

I heard footsteps coming to door, maybe it could be Scott after all. To my dismay it was Justin, who could have at least knocked before entering. Someone needs to teach this kid some manners.
