Justin’s Point of View

“But you promised!” Lily cried, out to Scooter who just broke the news at the last minute that he had to be to work soon. Apparently he had promise to spend the day with her and Tony.

Scooter sighed evidently growing frustrated with the way she bellowed at him.

“I know what I said babe, but I didn’t expect the office to call in today demanding that I come in a such short notice.” Scooter tried his best to reason with a rather frantic Lily who clearly wasn’t listening.

“Fine.” Lily stated dryly. I assumed her arms were folded against her chest or her weight was shifted onto one side with a hand thrown onto her hip. Something she did quite often when she was upset.

“I’ll make it up to you.” Scooter replied, yet promising another unpromising offer. Even I knew that was a lie. It was only for the spur of the moment to make her be quiet.

It been nice being able to tune into another fight between Lily and Scooter. The joy of having a room that was only a few doors down from theirs and very thin walls. Note the sarcasm.

I counted silently in my head, waiting until the knock I heard very so often.

 10...9...8...7...6...

The sound of Lily’s delicate fist coming in contact with my bedroom door. After almost every fight Lily made it her business to come to my room. Although we didn’t make love each visit. We mostly lay within each others embrace, where I listened to everything that she wanted to say to Scooter, but couldn’t quite bring herself to say to him at the moment.

There’s a many of times I’ve often found myself wanting to say leave him, but that would only cause a controversy between the two of us. The last thing I wanted to ignite a feud. I hate seeing Lily upset. There was no way I wanted to be the cause of it.

Tossing down my journal and pen putting the thought on hold for a latest piece that I was currently working on. I opened the door to find Lily peering off into particularly nothing with a solemn expression.

“Hi.” She said, with a force smile.

“Hey.” I replied, shifting my weight onto my other foot awkwardly.

A peaceful silence fell between us.

I twisted the door handle from behind, plotting on what to say next.

Luckily after a matter of minutes, Lily broke the ice.

“Well I wanted to invite you to spend time with my father and I.” Lily finally looked up at me for the first time that she had been standing in the door way. “Do you want to?” She whispered, as if she was afraid I’d reject her offer.

“Of course.” I stated, after a couple of seconds not wanting to sound desperate.

“Cool.” She replied, with a smile grin about to turn on to her heels.

“Lily?” I called out.

“Hmm.”

I meet her half way as we stood in the middle of the hall giving each other a once over.

I approached her slowly, allowing a thumb to caress her chin. She shudder underneath my touch before peering up to me.

“You should have asked me to began with.” I said, taking a deep breath for continuing.

“I would never turn you down…no matter if it’s something dearly important to me.” I whispered, thinking back to how quickly I tossed my music journal down when an idea came to mind the moment she knocked. I pushed all my thoughts away, just so I could comfort from out the state of distress.
