The finals have finally ended. The week of exhaustion, stress, and sleepless nights will come to an end. Sobrang happy kami ni Lori, dahil natapos na namin ang 1st semester namin. We really deserve a resting week.

I'm here at the downtown mall, hanging out with Lori. We're spending time together in a milk tea shop after an hour of window shopping. Both of us don't have any feels to buy something today, so we decided to eat—something we usually do when we're together, even at school.

We were having a good conversation when my phone rang, flashing Donnabelle's name on the screen. I answered the call for a moment, and heard her voice immediately on the other end. "Rainer Flynn Toralba. Come over here to Johen's house. Now."

I was taken aback by her suddenly speaking with more authority than she usually does, and before I could respond, she ended the call.

Lori was confused, "what's wrong?"

"She called."

"Who—you mean Donnabelle?"

I nodded in disappointment.

"Don't tell me, binubully ka na nyan ha. Don't ever lie to me, Flynn."

"No, promise. Siguro ganito talaga sya makitungo pero she never hurt me,"
I said, but that's half true. She did not, except noong kinalakad ako ng friends nya para ipasok sa kotse nya. At that time, I really thought I was going to be kidnapped.

"She wants me to go to Johen's house—"

My phone rang for the second time, but it was flashing not her name anymore on the screen. I answered the call and immediately heard his voice. "Flynn, where are you? I'll fetch you right now."

I was quite confused for the sudden call. "Why? May nangyari ba?"

"Nothing. We'll be going somewhere else."

At that moment, I was torn between staying longer with Lori or hangout with him. But, Lori spoke. "Flynn, if may lakad ka man, you better go. We can hang out naman next time."

I gave her a smile. "Thanks, Lori."

We exchanged goodbyes and left her at the shop. I promised her, babawi ako next time. The next thing I did was go to the parking lot where we both agreed to meet. There, I walked upon to his car, where he stood and waited for me. Kakagaling ata nya sa work.

He met me with his arms around me, still wearing the same perfume. He was surely longing for me. "Hi," I spoke.

"Sorry for the sudden call. May meeting kami and we need you."

I didn't get what he had just said. All of a sudden, I thought of his family. "Wait, are we coming out to your family?"

He opened the car door for me. "Not yet. But, you'll find out later."

"Di pa ako ready, Patrick."

He drew himself near me once more, and laid his lips on my forehead. "Don't worry, you're still the one I need even if the world turns its back on us."

His words gave me the relief I could ever ask for. I got into his car, and we drove out of the parking lot. He was just smiling the whole time, making me wonder in silence what he must've been thinking at the moment.

While we were on our way to somewhere, something came to my mind and I immediately grabbed my phone from my bag. "Nakalimutan ko, magkikita pala kami ni Donnabelle," nasabi ko nang 'di namalayan.

Late ko lang na-realize. I must've heard it too well.

I looked at the window and noticed the path we were heading to. We're almost at the gate of our subdivision village. "Why are we here? Are we supposed to go to our house?"

He didn't answer me and continued driving until we got inside. He was driving down a different street, skipping the one where our house is located. We passed by the playground and stopped over in front of a familiar house.

"They've been waiting for us," the only thing he said after his silence and getting himself off the car.

Sumunod ako sa kanya papunta sa loob. There, Donnabelle greeted us. "Long time no see, my dear cousin."

"You really came back, huh. Wala ka bang makitang iba sa New Zealand kaya bumalik ka?" he greeted her.

"Well, that's none of your business. Let's talk inside. Baka may makakita pa sa inyo," she replied.

In the living, there we saw Johen sitting on the couch. He stood as we stepped in, and greeted Patrick. "Nice meeting you again, Pat."

"You too, Henry."

I just gave him a smile when he turned to me. I was kind of confused when there were three of them in one room. "So what is this for?" I asked.

We all sat on the couch, him at my side while their seats were across the table.

"So Patrick told me that he'd go to their vacation house," Donnabelle started. "You wanted to take Flynn there, but unfortunately, that'll be suspicious on Flynn's fam."

"Para hindi kayo mabisto, I suggested na kami ang magpapaalam sa fam mo Flynn para makalusot ka," she added, and I quickly got their agenda for this meeting.

She continued. "Of course, our service ain't free. Where's our plane tix, Pat?"

From his coat, he took something and gave it to Donnabelle. "Tumutupad ka nga sa usapan."

"By the way, I decided, si Johen na lang magpapaalam kay Flynn. Just in case na iinterrogate siya, pwede siyang magpanggap muna na suitor mo—"

Patrick interrupted her. "Wait, wala yan sa usapan natin."

"Trust me, okay? Tsaka we're actually dating already kaya wala kang idapat ipag-aalala. Mas mabuti na si Johen ang kilala nilang suitor ni Flynn, dahil 'di pa tamang oras na mag-out kayo," saad niya.

"Make sure to do your best, Donna."

"I always do, Pat. You know, I don't like to fail anything."

I was just there, literally couldn't join in on their conversation. But, I got what they were trying to say.

I got what they meant by what they just said.
