Knees on the ground, tears on the gravestone. Alone in the yard under the gloomy skies, I couldn't help myself but to reminisce about all the memories they'd left behind. Now I can barely remember it all, but my heart will never forget them.
I prayed for their resting souls and laid carnations on the flower holders.
It's been a long time since I visited their graves here. Back then, I couldn't pay a visit; I might have put myself into a breakdown again if I had. I finally did, but somehow it made me realize that people come and go for some reasons. That's how messed up a life can be, and all you can do is deal with it—move forward.
Life teaches us the hardest lessons to be a stronger, tougher one. I didn't wish to be tougher, but I think, I've already become one.
As the rain fell from the skies above, someone came and stood to cover me under his umbrella. He greeted me with a smile on his face, and that somehow brought back the joy in me. I wrapped my arms around him. He still wears the same perfume.
His eyes were on me until he finally reached my lips. He even threw the umbrella away, and now we're soaked.
"Baliw. Magdadala ka pa ng payong, ipapaligo mo lang pala ako sa ulan."
"Gano'n talaga, kapag baliw sa'yo."
I've just realized that he came into my life just like an unexpected rain; his downpour made an instant flood which took me away from the place I thought I was safe and brought me instead to his home that I never thought I needed all this time.
