Hurt feelings started bubbling up inside you, squashing the hunger you'd felt not five minutes ago.

You felt too sick to eat.

Too wounded to do anything but run. So run you did.

It was still before any curfew time to be on school property and you considered laps around the track field. But even that wouldn't be enough.

You slumped against a fence post a few hundred yards from the dorms, head in your hands as you tried to breathe.

Had you overreacted? What did they want to talk about? Would they be mad? Would they all follow through on Mina's promise and be done with you?

A long whimper drew out into the air and you sunk down the post to your ass, bringing your knees up close to your chest.

Tomorrow you could escape from it all. Be hundreds of miles away.

Why did you have to wait for the stupid mixer? What was the point?

You'd have flat out denied to go if Todoroki hadn't asked you to go with him. You owed him that much for all the restraint he was able to provide for you.

One Alpha was plenty.

One Alpha in complete control was all you needed right?

But then, little flashes of today kept showing behind your eyes.

Cute exchanges, laughter, being cared for by so many... And you'd run away from it all because you got spooked and now they'd probably never give you that again.

Was it too late to go back? Apologize?

Probably.

Definitely.

You sighed, a long pitiful sound and sniffled, wiping your eyes.

You should still go back in. Say sorry for bolting.

As you took a steady breath and went to stand up, you almost screamed at the silent figure watching you, arms crossed and tapping an irritated foot.

Bakugos narrowed eyes were focused on you, his impatience obvious on his face.

When did he sneak up on you? How could you not smell him before? His scent was strong in the air now, sweet and alluring. Behind it all was confusion and pain. You hurt him by running away.

"I'm sorry." You said softly, getting to your feet and hugging yourself tight, unable to look in his eyes.

"You're very flighty for a wolf." He sighed, his voice devoid of any anger that his expression showed and you raised your eyes to glimpse at him, seeing a softness there that you'd rarely seen before.

"I wouldn't blame my quirk on it." You muttered lowly, feeling the shame creep back up your spine. Was he here to tell you not to bother coming back in? Or...?

"Being an Omega has got shit all to do with it. You're just jumpy, aren't ya?" His tone held no teasing bite, simply an observation that made you bristle.

"No. I wasn't always like this."

And that was the god damn truth.

You never ran away from anything. Let alone friends.

Bakugo rolled his eyes shoving his hands into his front pockets.

"Then you've got no damn excuse. You gotta get a fucking grip on that piece of you that's taking over your life. One event doesn't change who you are as long as you don't let it."

You tilted your head as you looked at him, surprised by his words. When he felt you looking he shrugged with a distant smirk.

"Or so the therapist used to tell me."
