63. Awake

A few hours had passed while you still slept and it was long past midnight by the time the pack had begun to settle in for the night.

On the small sofa, Kirishima and Mina were curled up together softly snoring away.

Ochako and Sero had decided to head back to the dorms after a while of watching you sleep, leaving Kaminari and Shinso with the Alphas, the former passed out against the wall, head back with his mouth wide open.

Shinso had been watching a small line of drool with some amusement as it trailed from the electric blondes mouth for a while before his eyes had become too heavy to keep open, falling asleep against the wall too.

The only two awake were the rival Alphas, glaring at each other from either side of your bed, anxiously waiting for you to wake up and not wanting the other to be the first one you saw.

"Why do you insist on going against her wishes?" Shoto says quietly, barely a mumble under his breath, but he knows the blonde before him could hear it easily.

Bakugo scowls in response, a low growl escaping his grit teeth, but he doesn't respond. He knows you wouldn't want all this. You'd told the pack no- even though you had clearly misunderstood- and they should have accepted that until you were ready to hear them out properly. But they weren't about to sit this out while you were in danger.

"Because we care for her." The blonde finally huffs, leaving forward to rest his elbows on your bed next to you, moving his eyes away from Shotos to look at your sleeping face.

"She may not want us, but she needed us."

"She doesn't need you now. You can all go."

"Tch, for what? So that you can take advantage of her heat?"

"Isn't that what you're trying to do?"

A loud snore from the corner of the room made the males realise how loud they were starting to get and they both fell to silence again for a while.

You sighed a little, shifting in your sleep and both males tensed.

"She's dreaming." Shoto sighed, watching as your expression shifted every now and then, your eyes flicking behind your eyelids.

"Wonder if it's a nice one." Bakugo said softly, his fingers itching to reach out to brush your face, but with the other Alpha so close, he didn't want to kick off a fight. Not yet anyway.

"I hope so."

You sighed, sat alone in the dark space of your mind.

The ghost sensations of touch had stopped a while ago, leaving you numb.

What had Dabi done to you? What would happen when you woke up from this?

...would you wake up from this?

"Omega?" You called out to the empty dark void, hoping she might be able to answer your questions.

But you were met with silence.

"Can I just know what's going on? Please?"

Silence.

"I don't even care anymore, I just want to leave this place. Throw me back out there, I'll behave. I won't cause trouble. Just... Let me out of here. Please."

Silence.

You hugged yourself as you closed your eyes, feeling helplessness truly start to sink in.

Why wasn't she responding? Wasn't she a part of you? Didn't she have to listen to you...?
