61. Waiting

"How is this wait somehow so much worse?" Mina groans, slumping in the ugly green sofa of the waiting area, her pack in various positions around her.

Sero had taken up residence on the floor, passing his phone to Kaminari as they took turns on a mobile game to take their minds off of the whole situation.

Ochako was on the phone outside, speaking to someone out of earshot from the others. Everyone assumed she was probably speaking to Deku...

Kirishima sighed as he pulled Mina close, nestling her against his chest as he watched Bakugo pace angrily, doing his best to ignore the two non members of his pack that lingered nearby, waiting for an update on your condition.

Thankfully Bakugos rut had seemed to hit a speed bump, and although it took both Kaminari and Kirishima to drag him away, he was able to snap out of his feral mind enough to let the nurses treat your injuries.

You'd been sedated for the removal of the bullet that had been lodged deep in your thigh, so you were currently blissfully unaware of the packs current hysteria.

But they all had a suspicion you weren't aware of much long before the sedation... You'd looked pretty out of it when being strapped into the ambulance.

Bakugo had held your hand the entire way.

"So... What happened in that room with Dabi? Why couldn't we go in?" Kaminari asks, his turn ending as he passed the phone back to Sero who also looked up, curious too.

The pack had entered the building from the lower floor, scanning for league members and eventually finding Toga and Kurogiri.

With the help of Aizawa and Sero, Kurogiri was taken out of play, leaving only the small blonde girl to deal with.

The fight had been choppy, but they'd managed to knock her out when they threw her through the wall, making their way to the door to get ready to join the battle against Dabi.

That's when the panicked voice of Mina had stopped them.

"She... It wasn't pretty. She was pretty messed up and you could see her heat had taken over. Couldn't even see any colour in her eyes." Mina rubbed her face, leaning harder into Kiri as she felt the exhaustion hit her.

Not five hours ago, they'd all been enjoying a party. She'd been all dressed up and twirling in Kiris arms...

"Not to mention she was naked and probably wouldn't appreciate more eyes seeing her than neseccary." Shinso adds, slipping down the walk to sit, his elbows resting against his knees.

Kaminari bristled.

"Then why were you allowed in?!"

A sleepy smirk comes across the lavender eyed boys face. He knew he shouldn't. He knows better than to annoy an Alpha. But he can't help it.

"I saved her didn't I? Took all of twenty seconds to take down Dabi. Could you have done that?"

The blonde opened his mouth, but Shinso continued, "Without accidently electrocuting her."

His mouth closed. Shinso grinned.

"I forgot how useful your quirk is..." Kaminari mumbled, leaning his head back against the wall, the blonde and the lavender haired boy almost a perfect mirror of each other as they sit against opposite walls.

"Aw, don't be so hard on yourself. If my phone needs charging, I'll come to you for help." Shinso teased and Kaminari flushed, his jaw tensing. Who the hell did this beta think he was?!

"I was trying to be nice man. No need to dig like that. I thought Betas were mellow." His eyes narrow, feeling a little uncomfortable under the lazy smirk of the mind control quirk user.
