11. Error

"Damn those Class B perverts!" Momo snarled, her composure wavering as Mina recounted the story in the changing room, looks of pity from the others landing on you as you shyly changed, keeping your back to them all.

Until you found your mate, this was your life now. You had to get used to it and learn to defend yourself rather than rely on friendly Alphas stepping in...

You tied your shoelaces and pouted, your fingers tightening on the lace in anger.

It wasn't fair. Before the summer no one paid you any attention. Why couldn't you be that girl again? Why did your genes determine you'd be an object for some high strung cocky asshole Alpha?!

"(Y/N)? You good?" Jiro asked as she sat on the bench next to you, asking quietly enough that the uproaring sisterhood around you couldn't hear.

You blinked at your shoelaces before letting them go and giving a sheepish smile.

"Uh, yeah. I'm okay. It's just a big adjustment."

She gave you a strange look before nodding and standing up.

"You're fierce. Be fierce."

Her comment staggered you, making your eyes widen. Fierce? What did she mean by that?

"Come on (y/n), you were so confident and strong before all this. That hasn't changed. Your core never does, so don't let one part of you drown who you were meant to be: a hero."

Her words slammed you and your eyes watered before you grinned up at her.

"Jiro...thanks."

She smiled and nodded, tilting her head to the door.

"Let's go warm up while these guys get it out of their system."

You nodded eagerly and snuck out with her, stepping into the mild air with a determined smile. It was gonna be difficult, but the old you was still there somewhere. You just had to find her again and stay tough.

"Jiro, (y/n)! Come join us!" Sero grinned as he and Kaminari stretched and limbered up.

Kaminari looked up to you both before quickly putting his head back down.

He hadn't quite forgiven himself yet. Defending you earlier didn't even start to make up for what he almost did to you.

As you sat down to stretch your legs and arms near him he stiffened up and turned his head away shamefully.

You noticed and cringed, your determination crumbling a little.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I can go over there if it helps Denki?"

His head shot up faster than his electricity ever could and his mouth hung open, causing Jiro to snicker.

"No no! Please! I promise you're not affecting me like... That." He tried to say delicately, bringing a faint blush to his cheeks.

"I just... I almost did a bad thing when you were in your heat and... I just don't know how to apologize...I'm sorry." His head hung low and Seros eyes jumped between the two of you.

"Uh, what?"

You blinked and shook your head, reaching out to grab Kaminaris hands making him lift his head to look at you, his whole body stiffening from being touched by an Omega.

"Hey, no, it's okay! Nothing happened right? No harm no fowl. I accept your apology."

His eyes lit up, a flicker of static crossing his fringe as he began to smile just a little.
