48. Pack

Keeping your head down at your desk was easy enough.

You'd arrived perfectly in time with the late bell, taking a seat just as Aizawa closed the door behind him, managing to avoid any and all eye contact and conversation, hearing a soft snicker from a few seats ahead and catching an amused look from Bakugo as he turned back around to face the front.

You resisted the urge to poke out your tongue, feeling oddly at ease knowing you and he were on better terms at last.

One problem down, a hundred more to avoid...

Combat training wasn't until after lunch, so keeping your eyes glued to your work was easy. You didn't dare look up again, even though you could feel several pairs of curious eyes burning into your form...

When the lunch bell rang out, you tried your hardest to leave first but the hallway was already starting to flood with bodies, only increasing the risk of being stuck around someone you really didn't want to talk to...

Instead, you doubled down on reorganising your bag, taking your sweet time knowing that there could just as easily be  someone waiting outside for you...

Jeez, cool it already... Not everyone is out to get you...

"Hey."

Ahhhhh fuck fuckidy fuck fuck fuck...

You held back the grimace as your eyes met Ochakos, seeing her fidget a little nervously.

"Hey." You replied, packing your bag a little quicker.

She'd been socially absent the last few weeks, only coming out to talk to people now that Midoriya was no where to be seen... She'd all but abandoned you along with Mina... What did she want?

"So... How have you been?"

"Well, that's a heavy question." You replied bitterly, seeming to catch the brunette by surprise, looking ashamed as she rubbed her arm.

You sighed.

"I've been better, but that's just my life now... What about you? Missing Midoriya yet?" You tried to take a lighter tone, relieved when she physically seemed to relax and smiled.

It wasn't her fault. And you didn't wanna push away your Beta friends right now...

A flash of Shinso appeared in your mind and you internally groaned. Another person to have a long talk with...

"Yeah a little... It's nice to feel a little bit normal again though. I hear you and Mina are..." She must have seen the wince you tried to hide as she trailed off.

"Lunch?" She perks, trying to flip the mood altogether, nodding her head to the door.

"Yeah, lunch. Let's go."

Moving your way through the cafeteria had never felt so painful.

So many eyes to avoid, so many people to stay as far away as possible from...

When Ochako had gone skipping up to Mina's table you stopped.

The usual crew was there, Sero, Mina, Bakugo, Kirishima and Kaminari...

At the end of their table with a few empty seats between them, Todoroki sat near Mono and Iida. The three Alphas quietly reading as they ate, not taking any notice until Momos eyes flicked up to lock on you.

You quickly averted your gaze and started to turn around, bumping into a shoulder and almost flipping your tray.

"Gah!"
