Emotional Intelligence

I've learned about Emotional Intelligence the other day. I realized how important to deal with life using emotional intelligence and how it is being associated with success.

"Emotional intelligence according to a website (credits to that website but I could not remember the name and I apologize for that but I give credits to the publisher) otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at school and work, and achieve your career and personal goals. It can also help you to connect with your feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to you.

To achieve happiness and success in life, IQ is important but what really matters is the EQ.

If we look at our society, successful people are not always the smartest one. Many of them are those people who didn't excel at work or school but they have the ability to understand, use, and manage their own emotions in positive ways. They have accepted criticism and responsibility, and making a mistake but able to continue and move forward. They have evaluated other people's emotions. They have empathy for other people, being able to share their feelings, and even able to solve problems in ways that work for everyone."

The qualities they have is an indication that you can be the most brilliant person in the world yet still unsuccessful because success does not come from those numerous theories you have memorized, but it comes from how you manage and control yourself when facing the difficulty of life.
