"Everything has an end indeed."

We live in this world as if we will abide here forever.

We live in this world as if we will remain here permanently.

We live in this world as if we live like immortals, our life doesn't end.

I attended today's jum'ah prayer with my mother. The friday khutbah hits me and I considered it as a form of blessing. The topic was about stingy.

"There was a man traveling. While he was traveling he suddenly passed by a house. He asked the owner of the house if he could give him some water just to quench his thirst. But the owner of the house said he don't have any. He asked repeatedly but then the owner responded the same. The man saw a tree full of fruits and asked the owner again if he could lend even a one fruit to him just to quench his thirst. The owner was hesitant in the beginning but he still lend him a small one. Then as the time passed by, the owner died. The owner had regrets, if he can only bring back his life and give all the fruits he had to satisfy the traveler's needs."

The lesson here is this: we can't stop the angel of death not to take our life. Once the time comes, we cannot anymore benefit from this world and cannot continue performing acts of worships. If there's a chance for us to help others and to do more acts of worship, grab the opportunity and considered yourself as blessed because there are many people in their graves who wish to bring their life back just to do more good deeds.

It's the reality happening today that many of us are not mindful of our final destination, death.

I realized, if you have a chance to do more good deeds and become a better Muslim grab it because one day you will realize how much you wasted your time trying to deal with worldly matters where you couldn't even have a benefit in the hereafter.

And I was reminded of what I used to believe,

"No matter how good you are in earning money, how blessed you are financially, or how wealthy you are, don't think that these blessings were given by Allah just for you. Because some of these are supposed to be for other people and your purpose is to be the carrier of their blessings."
