Derek was called from his lonely cell that he had visitors, when he got to the call room his sister's son flung himself into his arms and when you look at them you'll swear they were brothers"hey man, you're getting heavier by the day,what his granny feeding you?"the boy smiled shyly"I miss you dad"Smith was waiting for Derek to correct the boy but instead he saw Derek hug the boy and kiss his forehead"I miss you too son"then he saw Smith,the old couples and the one he believed was Eric,he waved to them"hi husband"Smith went to hug Derek, Derek gave him a soft knock on the head"don't call me that"

Smith nodded"yea,this is Eric my brother"he nodded and shook the guy's hand,but the way the guy looked at him made him snatch his hand away gently and not look at him again even though he could feel his gaze burning down his back, Derek wondered why he was looking at him that way but spoke to the couples instead"thanks so much for always been there I don't have words to express how grateful I am"they smiled at him"then don't,it's not like he has been living free with us,he does the chores and works at the Cafe,he is an hardworking man just like you and he is a rich dude already"Xavier laughed while pulling the old woman into a hug"no way,I only own a few bucks, don't pay attention to them dad"Derek smiled while nodding his head,he felt hurt that he has missed out on the boy's childhood but there is nothing he can do about it,they discussed for a while then Eric looked at Derek again

"I got you a good lawyer and requested for a reopening of your case,I seriously hope you get out of here soon and I'm confident this lawyer would make that possible"Derek looked up in surprise,his eyes landing on Smith"yes,I promised before I left that I will get you out of here so believe it,I miss you so much anyways and I want you closer to me,I miss the cuddles"Derek glared at him when everyone started looking strangely at him"what nonsense are you saying?"Smith knew he was embarrassed but didn't care, he went ahead to hug Derek while pouting"come on honey don't you miss holding your baby boy hmm?"Derek shook his head and pushed him away"do you want to get kicked or beaten up"Smith raised his two hands"no no no,I love my pretty face just as it is"-"then stop saying nonsense"he nodded, Derek was freaking out,the way Eric was looking at him made him uncomfortable,so he was relieved when their time was announced to have ended, Xavier cried as he was being led away, Derek cried too but didn't allow it to show,he prayed for the first time in a long time to God,to help him get out of there because he was already tired of suffering,it didn't take long for him to be called to court and his case was being revisited,it was not easy to judge because of the evidence that had been brought against him but then people started coming out to defend Derek, everything was going smoothly,the lawyer in charge of his case requested for another professional doctor to go redo all the tests that said Derek was crazy or livid and when this results came out it showed Derek never had a brain problem or mental health issue, Derek was happy with the way the procession was going,

Finally someone came to testify on his behalf and said her name was Sofia and his sister had left a note for her before she left,the note said everything that he had gone through when he was with his uncle and how it had led him into killing their father,so the case took another turn,the uncle was being looked for but as expected he was no where to be found, Derek was granted bail,he was allowed to go home while the investigation continue, they were going to call him back when his uncle was found,he was to go free and compensated for all the time he had wasted, Derek happily went to his cell and waited for the morning to come but he didn't know he was in trouble until a knife stabbed him in the stomach,he couldn't cry for help because he was immediately gagged and tied,he was flung into his cell and the door locked,he groaned in pain as the light began to fade from his eyes,tired and frustrated he look up and registered the face of the people who injured him before succumbing to the darkness that called to him
