"There's so many people here," Jin groans as he leans against the counter, finally catching a break from the afternoon rush.

"Well yea, it is break after all. Everyone is out doing shit," Changbin says as he makes himself another drink.

"Right," Jin simply says, completely forgetting about it. He can't believe it's already been that long and it does genuinely make him sad. Instead of enjoying his summer break like other people, he's here working. It's comforting to know that at least he's not the only one though.

"I'm gonna go to break now," he says as he starts taking off his apron and Changbin just nods. He walks to the back room and his phone vibrates in his locker. He just received an email from one of the property managements he contacted and he smiles as he finishes reading it. He got approved for a studio apartment and he can move in by the end of the week.

His phone goes off with another notification.

Lee Taeyong: X University is having a little festival on campus this weekend. I was wondering if you would like to go with me

He sighs sadly.

Seokjinnie: I don't think I can make it :( I'm moving into my new place this weekend

He bites his lip as he waits for a reply. But who is he kidding? He's not a fast texter, right?

Lee Taeyong: oh :( do you need help moving? I obviously don't have much going on lol. But if you want, we can put a pin on it and hang out some other time

Seokjinnie: I appreciate it but you don't have to. I don't have much anyway

Lee Taeyong: I don't mind :)

He smiles as he replies and they set up a time to meet up. Now more than ever does he appreciate Taeyong's kindness and it makes him happy that he has a friend to hang out with outside of work. He grabs his pack of cigarettes and heads out through the back, leaning against the wall and lighting one. He grimaces as he blows out the cancerous smoke, still not quite used to the taste but lately, he's been using it to cope when he gets anxious. Not the best coping mechanism and he's yet to tell his therapist about it.

He closes his eyes after taking another puff, breathing it out of his nose and enjoying the warm sun on his face. He wonders what his old friends are doing during this vacation and suddenly, Jungkook comes to mind. He hasn't thought about him for a while now, they didn't really end on good terms and it's hard for him to recall their last conversation. He scoffs a little, thinking that he's probably out doing rich kid things.

He throws the cigarette butt on the asphalt and puts it out with his shoe before reaching down to pick it up, throwing it in the tin they have by the door. He wants to light another one but he knows he shouldn't so he just hangs out for a little bit longer. Just as he's about to go back in, he gets this random sinking feeling deep in the pit of his stomach, anxiety crawling up his spine to his neck. He takes a deep breath to ground himself, he can just take his anxiety medication from his locker. It'll be fine.

After doing so and putting his apron on, he walks out to the front and finds some things to stock.

"Oh hey, someone was looking for you while you were gone," Changbin says, washing some dirty dishes. Jin stops midway stocking to-go cups and he looks at him.

"Who? Did they say what they wanted?"

Changbin shrugs. "Not really. He just asked about you but when I questioned him on who he was, he said that his name wasn't important."
