Jungkook sits in one of the booths in the corner, using a magazine for cover as he steals glances in Jin's direction. He decided to order whenever Jin went to the back—presumably for his break—so as to not be discovered so quickly but he hasn't even taken a single sip from his coffee. He's not much of a fan of the bitterness from it in general, maybe he should've gotten something else instead.
"Yo, don't freak out or anything but that guy keeps looking over here," Jisung—another co-worker—gently nudges Jin's side, nodding his head over where Jungkook is sitting.
"Hey be careful! I'm making a drink here," Jin says with a chuckle, shaking his head as he finishes up. "Go talk to him then."
"I think he's interested in you to be honest."
Jin hands over the coffee to the customer waiting at the counter before turning to him. "He could be looking at you. Why do you automatically assume he's got his eye on me?"
"Oh I don't know. Maybe because his gaze always seem to land on you," Jisung says with an eye roll. "Besides, even if he were interested in me, I wouldn't bite. From what I can see, he's not my type."
"Oh? And what is your type?" He asks, putting his hands on his hips.
At that moment, Minho, their assistant manager, appears out of nowhere, interrupting their little conversation.
"Jisung, can you do some inventory for me real quick?"
"Yea sure," he says and they watch as he disappears back into the small office.
Jisung cheekily looks back at him, wiggling his eyebrows playfully. "That's my type. Just go take him a pastry and say it's on the house or something."
Jin huffs in amusement, shaking his head. "I don't think so. Now go before Minho comes back and yells at you."
"Yea yea, whatever."
Jin laughs to himself, grateful that he's been paired up with him today. Out of the small group of staff, he gets along great with like four of them, Changbin and Jisung among the few. He goes to bus a few tables and now that he's conscious about it, he secretly peers over his shoulder to peek at the man by the window. Despite the poor excuse for cover, it's still a little difficult to fully see what he looks like because of his face mask. Curiously, Jin feels some form of familiarity about him but he's not sure as to why that is.
The front door bell rings as someone walks in and he turns to welcome them in, smiling as it's Taeyong who has just arrived. He hurries to the counter, something Jungkook definitely takes notice of. Jungkook sizes him up and down, wondering what's so great about this guy. He doesn't look like much to him.
"Hey," Jin says. "What's up?"
"Well, I just so happened to be in the area and I thought it'd be nice to come see you." Taeyong leans forward on the counter. "When do you get off work?"
Jin bites his lip to stop from smiling like an idiot. "I get off in like two hours," he says as he checks the clock hanging on the wall. "But there's no loitering so unfortunately, you can't just hang around until I'm done."
"I can stay as long as I order something though, right? Besides, I've got nothing better and I don't mind waiting for you."
Jin's mouth quirks a little. "What would you like?"
Taeyong hums as he pushes back on the counter, his eyes scanning all over the menu above them before they land back on him. "I'll have whatever you recommend. I'm sure I'll like it."
