"What's taking them so long? It's easy to see that that motherfucker is guilty," Jungkook grumbles, pacing back and forth in the lobby. Jin is sitting on the bench off to the side with Taeyong by his side, rubbing his back soothingly as Jin bounces his legs in anticipation.

He's not worried that they won't find the man guilty, he's more so worried about how long they'll give him in jail. As much as he wants him put away for life, he knows it's a bit too optimistic for that. He sighs heavily and Jungkook looks over. Not caring that he'd be interrupting something, he walks towards the pair and sits on the other side of Jin, setting his hand carefully on his shoulder. Jin's body jolts a little, not expecting Jungkook to be right there.

"Hey, it'll be ok though," he offers as consolation and Jin huffs under his breath.

"I know it will,"he mumbles but realizes he responded a little rudely. "Sorry."

The officer comes back out and ushers everyone back into the courtroom, Jin's hands growing sweaty as they take their original seats. The jury files out of the small conference room and the judge calls for the representative to state their verdict. Unaware of the breath he was holding in, Jin lets out a sigh of relief when they declare him guilty of all charges. His eyes begin to water but it's not over yet.

He holds his breath as the judge decides his fate and the waterworks begin as he's given the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. He clutches Taeyong's hand tightly and Taeyong looks over at him with a huge smile on his face. The judge closes the case and dismisses everyone as Professor Cho is being taken away by the guard, his head hanging low in shame and defeat.

"It's over," Jin says under his breath, his body shaking not because of anxiety, but the overwhelming excitement of knowing his abuser is now behind bars.

"It's over," Taeyong reiterates and he guides him up and out of the room. Walking out of the building, they're met with more reporters bombarding them with questions. On either side of him, Taeyong and Jungkook both escort Jin through the crowd, pushing back and shoving through them. Luckily, they arrive to their respective cars unharmed and as Jin opens Taeyong's car door, Jungkook calls out to him.

"Seokjin, can we talk please? Are you hungry? We can catch up and have lunch," Jungkook offers and Jin stands there, paused for a moment. His eyes flick to Taeyong as if asking for direction and he gives him a small smile.

"I can leave you guys to it. I have some paperwork to finish at the office."

"Oh ok," Jin says, disappointment in his tone. He wanted Taeyong to go with him, he was hoping he would, he's been his main support this whole time. But he knows he can't keep him from his work and his own life. He doesn't want to come off as needy and scare him off. He doesn't want to become a nuisance to him, despite Taeyong reassuring him of their friendship. He can't be dependent on him.

As Jin walks around the car, Taeyong stops him and gives him a hug. "I'm so proud of you Seokjin."

Jin reciprocates the hug with a smile, unintentionally looking up to see Jungkook's slight scowl as he looks away. He sighs and pulls away.

"I'll talk to you later, alright?" Taeyong says and Jin just nods. They part ways and trying to hide his true feelings, Jin hops into Jungkook's car, sitting up straight and looking ahead stoically after buckling in his seatbelt.

Jungkook starts the car and rubs his thighs out of habit before turning to Jin. "Anywhere you wanna go?"

"Not really. You chose, I guess. Nothing expensive though or I'll beat you up," Jin threatens and Jungkook cracks a smile. There he is.

"Ok ok," he replies with a smile as they pull out of the parking lot and onto the road. They drive for about 15 minutes until Jungkook spots a mom and pop shop. He parks and Jin is actually delighted to see the small restaurant, he hasn't been there for a long while.

They walk in and the savory aroma floods their nostrils, both of their tummies grumbling as they anticipate the delicious food that awaits them. Jin immediately spots his usual table towards the back, a small wooden table in the corner, and makes a beeline towards it, momentarily forgetting that Jungkook is with him.

"Sorry, I got excited," he says as he sits down and Jungkook waves his hands, shaking his head.

"Don't be sorry. I thought it was cute."

Jin rolls his eyes and ignores the compliment. "I think it was the beginning of my last year of high school, the last time I was here. Never had the time afterwards because of school and exams and such."

Jungkook looks around the place, nodding. "It's cute. It feels cozy."

Jin smiles a little, proud that someone like Jungkook can appreciate the quainter things that he's used to.

"Oh my, is that you Seokjin?" This plump, little old lady comes around the corner with a huge smile on her face and Jin immediately gets up and goes to her, bending over slightly to give her a hug.

"I know it hasn't been long but my, it feels like forever since I've last seen you," she says and pulls away, holding him at arms length. "Still just as handsome as ever."

Jin smiles shyly, looking down. "Thank you, halmeoni."

She smiles back and spots Jungkook eyeing them curiously in the back. "Oh and who is this handsome young man?"

She waddles over to the table, Jin looking over at Jungkook a little scared. But relief washes over him as Jungkook turns on his charm and greets the woman with a warm smile.

"Hello, my name is Jungkook. I'm a friend of Jin's from university."

"Well it's nice to meet you. How is school? I believe break wasn't too long ago, so classes are back in session, yes?" She asks innocently and Jin swallows the lump in his throat. He doesn't want to lie to her, she's like family to him.

"It's been very stressful. Me and Jin could barely keep our eyes open through exams week, staying up late studying and all. But we made it through," Jungkook answers for them.

"Oh my. I hope you didn't forget to eat in between. You look thin, honey."

"I'm sure you'll be able to help us out with that, yes?" Jungkook says with a smile.

"Of course! Why, we can catch up afterwards. I need to feed you boys first. I will be right back," she responds with a smile and off she goes, already knowing what to order for them. She's got a good memory for her age.

Jin sits down quietly, fiddling with his fingers before looking up at Jungkook again. "Thank you."

Jungkook smiles back. "Don't worry about it."
