Jungkook had asked Jin if he could take him on a date this weekend. He told him he had to work but at least he has the morning shift. He won't get out of work until around 4 however, which is ok with Jungkook. To let him be more in control, he let Jin choose what to do but the thing is, Jin has no idea. What could they do that'll be fun for the both of them?

When the day arrives, he still hasn't decided what they should do and he feels embarrassed by it. He had asked his friends and coworkers what they normally do on dates. So many options yet so indecisive.

He gets home to take a quick shower and change clothes. He shoots Jungkook a text to let him know he's ready and watches tv as he waits patiently until he hears a knock on the door 20 minutes later. He opens the door to greet Jungkook who, if he may add, looks great.

"You look beautiful," he expresses joyfully and Jin looks down at his outfit. He's just wearing a nice shirt and pants.

"It's plain and simple, nothing special," he says as he steps out into the hallway to lock his door and Jungkook shrugs.

"You still look great though."
Jin huffs with a smile. "Thanks I guess."

They head down to Jungkook's car and they get in, buckling their seatbelts. Jungkook starts the car and setting his hands on the steering wheel, he looks over at Jin.

     "So, where to?"

Jin laughs nervously, twiddling his thumbs. "Um, I actually don't have a plan laid out for today. I didn't know what we could do that'll be fun for you too. I did want to think of something though, I'm sorry that I'm just now telling you."

"Hey, it's ok. We can figure it out as we go along. Would you prefer an early or late dinner?" He asks as he peels out and onto the road.

"Mm, I'm not really hungry right now but if you haven't eaten yet, we can go somewhere."

"I'm fine with eating later. We'll just have to think of what to do until then. Is there anything you're interested in doing or somewhere you'd like to go?"

Jungkook waits patiently as Jin ponders and he shyly answers.

"It's nice out today. We can go for a walk at the park."

Jungkook smiles and nods. "Yea absolutely. Any park will do?"

     "Sure."

It doesn't take them long to find one as they reach a small park minutes later, several other people having the same idea as them because of the warm day. They set out onto the path that cuts through the park, Jin following Jungkook as he takes the lead. He slows down so he can walk in pace with Jin and stroll silently.

"Feel free to say no but I just want to ask. Can I hold your hand?" Jungkook asks politely, his hands in his pockets as he waits for his response.

"You can," Jin answers meekly and with a big smile, Jungkook pulls his right hand out of his jeans pocket and gently grabs onto Jin's, lightly swinging them in between their bodies.

"Thank you."

"You don't have to thank me every time, you know?" Jin says and Jungkook hums.

"I'd like to because you've given me permission to do something that involves you. I appreciate you trusting me, even if it's a little bit for now."

Jin smiles to himself. "What happened to you these past couple months?" He asks jokingly.

Jungkook huffs a laugh. "I'm aware I was an asshole before. But you can't go through life being a dick and not expect consequences, I fucked around and I found out. I've learned and reflected on myself and I've come to find that that's not something I want to be for the rest of my life. I want to be better for the people I care for and I know I have a long way to go."

"I'm proud of you," Jin assures him with a warm smile. "That's more than what some people are willing to do."

Jungkook smiles and peers down at their hands. "Thanks."

Jin notices. "Are you really content with just this?"

     "What do you mean?"

Jin brings their hands up to show him what he's talking about. "Holding hands. I feel bad for not being able to offer any more."

Jungkook stops them and faces him directly, carefully holding both of his hands. "Please don't feel bad for not being comfortable with doing more. I understand that's how you feel but it's really ok by me. I don't ever want to put you in a difficult position again. Like I said, I'm willing to wait however long it takes and I really do mean that."

"I know," Jin mumbles as he stares at the ground, unable to bring himself to look into Jungkook's eyes.

"Are you feeling ok? Do you want to go home early?" Jungkook asks and Jin shakes his head.

"No, I'm ok. I don't want to go yet."
"Ok, I just wanted to make sure."

"I appreciate it. Thank you," Jin replies and finally looks up at him. He can see a combination of emotions in his expression, a mix of worry, concern, and something he can't quite place. Maybe sadness? But for what?

They continue down the stone path and they reach a small pond with a bench. They sit down and Jungkook fishes out a small water bottle out of his jacket pocket, handing it to Jin. Jin just stares at it and Jungkook presses by lifting it up closer towards him.

"Here. It's not terribly hot but you gotta stay hydrated."

Jin smiles and grabs it. He opens it and takes a couple of sips, drinking half of it before handing it back to Jungkook. "You have to stay hydrated too."

Jungkook takes it and finishes the bottle, getting up to throw it away at the trash can across from them. Jin leans his head back, closing his eyes and sighing softly as the breeze blows on his face.

"This is nice."
"You think so?"

Jin lolls his head to look at him, smiling. "Yes. Thank you for taking me out."

"Of course. I've been wanting to take you out on a proper date and I'm glad you gave me a chance to do so," Jungkook says truthfully, a small smile etching on his face.

Jin stares at him for a moment before closing his eyes again, turning his head back to face forward. "Should we watch a movie?"

"Sure. Do you know what's showing?"
"No idea but we can find out."

They quietly find their seats in the dark theater, the soft crinkle of a candy bag underneath Jungkook's arm and a few popcorn bits falling off the over filled container. Luckily, there's many seats available and so they decide to sit in the middle towards the back. They power through the previews and enjoy the comedy movie, laughing throughout the runtime.

"That was fun," Jin chuckles as they leave the room, throwing away his drink and left over popcorn.

"I think so too. But now I'm ready for some food, you know," Jungkook replies and Jin nods, rubbing his belly as it grumbles. "Anywhere you'd like to go?"

"Not that I have in mind. You choose."

"Hmm, I think I know a place."
