Scarlett's Mistake

Chapter 51

Silence.

A heavy silence embraced the five mafias after Louie told Scarlett what her butler told them few hours ago---to break up with Kaiden, and it was her father's order.

A long, deafening silence were dancing throughout the lounge area. It was uncomfortable and awkward with a hint of nervousness and tensity. It was a deadly silence.

Thankfully, it didn't last forever because Scarlett spoke with her bored, cold, and menacing voice;

"Is it because he's Jayce?"

Everyone gasped. Her right hands gaped at her as she let out a snort and drank the vodka in her glass. She then put the empty glass onto the coffee table and stood up.

"I already found out about that five months ago so shut up and don't remind me again."

After that, she walked towards the kitchen, where Kaiden was.

The four mafias, on the other hand, heaved a deep sigh as they watched their boss make her way to the kitchen where her boyfriend is currently cooking in.

"You heard her," Jaxon said coldly with a hint of amusement in his voice. "Let's just let her do what she wanna do. Just always keep an eye on her."

"Yeah." Louie let out a sigh again as he poured a wine on his wineglass. "But I really wonder how did she cope up with guilt within those past months?"

"She's stronger than we think, Mouthy," Austin responded with his amused voice.

"I didn't expect that Kaiden was Jayce," Louie uttered again. "I didn't expect he's that crying baby we met almost two decades ago."

"His face changed," Hades said. "He looked like his mother when he was a kid but now, well, he still look like his mother, but he already got his father's features."

"How can you say that? Do you know his father?" Louie and Austin asked in unison.

The hacker, on the other hand, took a glimpse of the fighter who just nodded at him as a permission, then he looked at the confused sniper and assassin again.

"Don't tell this to Coldy, okay?"

They both nodded eagerly.

"Jax and I have this suspicion that Kaiden's father is the president. He got some of the bastard's features."

"Fvck," Austin mumbled as he looked at Louie who's gaping at the hacker.

"Mouthy and I also has suspicion that Lia's boss is the president," the assassin said, which caused Hades to gape at him. The fighter also looked at him with widened eyes.

"If these are all true....then....Kaiden's father is the president, who is also the famous faceless mafia boss, Mr Constantini? Mr Constantini who is fvcking Mr Montanari and Coldy's biggest enemy?"

Louie's breath hitched after his mind absorbed every detail of the sentences he said. His heart palpitated because of nervousness.

"Damn. This is insane."

Meanwhile....

"Is it cooked?" Scarlett asked after some minutes of waiting as she pulled herself up and walked towards the introvert boy who's currently looking innocently at the chicken adobo that he was cooking.

"Almost," Kaiden uttered as he walked towards the kitchen island and picked a white large plate.

Scarlett, on the other hand, crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the island while watching the boy.
