Scarlett's Mistake

Chapter 61

With the help of the hacker, Scarlett found the boy's location. They tracked his phone.

She had to wake Hades up just to ask help to find the boy, she even woke Megan up but the couples didn't mind it. They even joked that she'll just marry the boy so that he won't go away from her and just tell him that she still love him----that what she said yesterday wasn't real.

"Sorry for interrupting," she uttered coldly and looked at the sleepy couple.

"You really changed, huh. You know how to say sorry now," Hades teased, which just caused him to receive a glare from the mafia queen.

"Alright. Go now. Go to your man."

The hacker winked at his boss before he placed a soft brotherly kiss on her forehead.

"Be careful."

Scarlett just hummed and hurriedly walked out of their hotel room. She went inside the elevator and impatiently waited for it to reach the ground floor.

When she did, she immediately ran out of the hotel and towards her sports car that was parked in the hotel's parking lot.

Kaiden were just fifteen minutes away from the hotel so she immediately reached him and she didn't expect the place he went to.

It was their lone house in the middle of their farm. His grandparents' house rhat were just made of wood. It was small yet Scarlett could see cheer and glee there.

She parked her car three meters away from the house and walked towards it.

The mafia queen hugged herself when a cold morning breeze suddenly danced around her. She was just wearing her thin white t-shirt because she took her jacket off when she were searching through the hotel room.

She walked slowly and looked up at the starry sky and the crescent moon that were illuminating the whole place and since it wasn't that bright, the place were still dark but the mafia queen could see her way.

She sighed and averted her gaze to the house and a low gasp escaped from her throat when her memory there suddenly flashed in her mind.

It played repeatedly and vividly. She could remember how she killed Kaiden's mother, how she witnessed the horror in young Kaiden's face, and she could even hear his voice that were filled with fear and calling her 'monster'.

Scarlett could clearly remember how they played in front of that little house, how she smiled and laughed with the boy, and how she fed the animals with him.

"Kaiden?" she uttered when she reached the slightly opened wooden door of the house but no one answered so she entered.

The mafia queen froze when she saw the boy's muscular back. He was facing the wooden table in their mini kitchen, a melting candle in front of him.

"Kaiden?"

Scarlett narrowed her eyes when the boy moved but he didn't face the mafia queen, he looks like he's wiping something off his face, causing her to approach him hurriedly and looked at his face.

The mafia queen's heart plumetted when she saw tears adorning Kaiden's doe puffy eyes.

"Why are you crying?" she asked, her voice softened as Kaiden shaked his head and smiled at her.

"W-Why are you here, M-Miss Scarlett? A-And why aren't you wearing a jacket? T-There's mosquitos here."

"Answer me," Scarlett said with her impatient cold voice, "Why are you crying?"
