Scarlett's Mistake

Chapter 62

"Scarlett, I'm so happy for you," Mr Montanari said as he smiled at his daughter who's currently standing at the balcony of her and Kaiden's room.

He approached the mafia queen who was smoking but she immediately threw the cigarette when her father entered.

"Are you happy?" the old man asked again as he stood beside his daughter and leaned against the railing.

It's already almost seven in the evening so the place were already dark but the crescent moon and starry night sky were illuminating the place. There were also fairy lights around the coconut trees, which are making the place more bright.

Scarlett were alone on the room because Kaiden went with the others, they said they will order foods for dinner.

"Yeah," she answered coldy at her father's query as Mr Montanari smiled at looked at the sky.

"I'm sure your mother is so happy for you. You grown up now and in love. Who knows if you might get married tomorrow and have family?"

He let out a low sigh and averted his gaze to his daughter again.

"I'm excited to see little Scarletts and little Kaidens," he uttered teasingly as the mafia queen looked away.

"Tss."

"What? I'm excited to play with my grandchildren!" he happily exclaimed and smiled widely.

"Anyways, let's go to the restaurant near here, they said they're already there, foods are ready, too."

Scarlett just nodded and followed her father to the said restaurant.

She immediately narrowed her eyes when they arrived there because inside the restaurant was dark and the fairy lights around the coconut trees that were surrounding the small building were off, too. It was dark.

Completely dark.

"Dad, are you----dad?"

She narrowed her eyes when she noticed that her father weren't beside her anymore.

"Dad! Where are you?!"

But she only received silence, making her grit her teeth. She let out a low gtoan and was about to turn around and just go back to the hotel but she froze when she heard a strum of a guitar inside the restaurant.

She suddenly shivered because of the cold air that passed her and because of a reason she didn't know.

The mafia queen gulped visibly anf stared at the restaurant and she just noticed that the glass doors of it were open.

Another strum resonated throughout the place, then after some seconds, she heard a familiar deep voice that made her knees tremble, the hairs at the back of her neck raised and her heart started to palpitate.

Scarlett, with her usual emotionless face, walked inside the restaurant and stopped after she was three steps away from the door.
