Scarlett's Mistake

Chapter 66

"M-Miss Scarlett, e-eat this, please. You didn't eat something since yesterd----"

"I told you I have no appetite."

Kaiden heaved a sigh as he stared at Scarlett who's absentmindedly staring at the ceiling of her room. She refused to eat nor go out of her room since yesterday.

Yesterday was also the day that her father's death were announced.

They only found his burnt bones in the plantation and his golden wristwatch that was still attached around his wrist's bone.

It's been three days since the explosion of the plantation happened and they're now back in Manila. They immediately went back to the city right after the explosion because none of them could stay there after what happened.

It took days before the private investigators found Mr Montanari's burnt bones because his body bursted, which causing his body parts to fly everywhere and it was hard to find every part of his skeleton since lots of people were there, too.

They immediately buried Mr Montanari's skeleton yesterday after they finally brought it back together again and Scarlett couldn't accept the fact that her father's gone now.

"M-Miss Scarlett, you have to accept the fact that he's gone," Kaiden whispered and put the bowl of soup onto the nightstand beside the mafia queen's king-sized bed and stared at his fiancee. "N-Nothing's permanent, you know. People come and go. People live and...d-die."

"I know that but it's fvcking early for him to die! He fvcking didn't even see his grandchildren that he wanted to play with!"

Scarlett averted her gaze to Kaiden and gritted her teeth.

"It's unfair!"

"M-Miss Scarl-----"

"Go out. I wanna be alone."

"B-But---"

"Go!"

Kaiden flinched because of the harshness of the mafia queen's voice and when he saw her deadly glare, he stood up pronto and grabbed the tray of soup and juice he prepared for the mafia queen.

He stared at the furious mafia queen for a second before he turned around and went out of her room with a heavy heart.

Kaiden thought it wouldn't last. He thought Scarlett will finally eat the foods he's preparing after some days but she didn't.

Everytime he go inside her room and try to persuade her to eat, Scarlett would just shout at him that she don't want to eat and cruelly tell him to go out of her room, and don't bother her again.

The scene gets repeated day after day. It's the everyday scene in her room.

Weeks had passed and it's still the same, Scarlett still refused to eat and keot pushing him away everytime he approach her.

Kaiden really wonder why it seems like she isn't getting weak for not eating for the past few weeks. It kept bothering him everyday but he didn't have the courage to ask the mafia queen why she still has energy despite not eating.

He just kept persuading her to eat even though she endlessly refused and pushed him away.

Kaiden wanted to cheer her up, to calm her down and to make her feel better but he couldn't because Scarlett kept being rude and cold to him---to everyone, including Lia, Andrew, and Mr Constantini who are now living in the huge villa, too.

The president kept grieving within the past weeks, too, because of the sudden death of his bestfriend that he just spent time with again for short period of time. He kept spacing out, too.
