A loud sharp slap resonated throughout the hallway of the hospital that is own by Austin after Avery arrived and approached the mafias who were standing across the operating room's doors.
She was shocked and furious when Hades called her using Kaiden's phone and told her that her bestfriend was shot and her anger increased when she heard the hacker's calm voice and when he sounded like someone getting shot is just a normal thing for him. She's mad! She's mad at the mafias! She's blaming them for what happen to her bestfriend.
The doctor raised her right arm again and for the second time, her palm met Scarlett's reddened cheek. A harsher sound of a hard slap once again resonated throughout the hallway.
The hallway were empty, the other patients were in other floors and those patients are all members of the ordanization that is being ruled by the mafia queen, some patients are families of the mafia members.
The hospital were private. It's only for mafias.
"How dare you?" Avery whispered to the mafia queen, who is standing in front of her and who was leaning against the wall and her hands in her jean's pockets, with her rasp, weak voice.
The doctor wants to cry because of frustration. Fear and anxiety invaded her system after she heard the horrifying news about her bestfriend.
Kaiden is so important to her! She oughted to take care of the boy! She promised to his grandparents before they died that she'll keep the innocent boy away from danger and now she's mad, mad at the mafias and especially to herself for agreeing with this shit.
She wish she didn't gave her permission. She wish she didn't let Kaiden work for the mafias! She saw this coming yet she still let her bestfriend because he wanted the job with high salary! She wish she took Kaiden out of the mafias lives the moment he met them.
Avery knows her bestfriend will be in danger if he's with the mafias. The mafias who are the real dangers.
"What happened?! Why did he get shot, huh?! What the fvck happened? Answer me, Scarlett! What happened?!" She shouted and grabbed the taller girl's black leather jacket's collars and pushed her more against the wall.
Scarlett kept calm and emotionless. Her head is still tilted to her right side as she gritted her teeth and glared at the floor. She ignored the doctor and kept staring at the ground with infinitesimally narrowed dangerous almond eyes.
She's also blaming herself. For the fvcking first time! She blamed herself for pulling someone into fvcking danger! For the freaking first time, she felt....guilty.
The bullet was for her. It was for her but Kaiden fvcking caught it for her! She should've killed the other two cops! If she only killed them before she chased the president! If only she fvcking killed them, Kaiden wouldn't be put between life and death!
Damn! Why am I feeling this guilt? This rue?
Rue. When did she last felt it? It was when she killed her bestfriend's mother. And now she feel it again. She feel regret. She regret letting Kaiden go alone there and feet the freaking bastard who planned to kidnap him!
"Scarlett! Tell me the reason why my bestfriend got shot!" Avery shouted at her again, pulling her out from her deep reverie.
