Chapter 55

"U-Uhm, h-hi...?"

Kaiden fidgeted as he stood beside his cousin who was busy cooking their breakfast.

Lorenzo threw a confused, threatening look at him for a second, then he continued cooking again. He said nothing.

Kaiden, on the other hand, pouted cutely. He let out a low sigh and bowed his head.

"I-I'm sorry f-for what I-I did before. I-I didn't mean t-to punch y-you," he uttered lowly and bit his lower lip, scared that the mafia boss might shout or hurt him.

Lorenzo froze for a moment, then he slowly averted his gaze towards his cousin who's fidgeting nervously beside him and he nearly laughed when he noticed that Kaiden was still wearing his pajamas that had Pikachu design on it. He looked like a little kid.

"Why are you saying sorry?"

"B-Because I punched y-you. I-I told you a-already. A-Are you deaf?"

Kaiden looked up and pouted when he saw the mafia boss' deadly glare. He bit his lower lip and was about to bow his head again but a voice interrupted them:

"Good morning, Renz! Good morning, lovely brother!"

Andrew yawned before he walked towards the two.

"What's our breakfast?"

He took a peek of the food that Lorenzo was cooking before he outstretched his right arm across his brother's muscular shoulders and forced himself between Kaiden and Lorenzo.

"You!" he shouted at his younger brother, yes, Andrew was born a few weeks before Kaiden so it means he's older than the introvert boy. "Why did you watch the whole episode without me?!"

"Y-You fell a-asleep."

Andrew huffed.

"I won't let you borrow my laptop again," he said, which made Kaiden pout.

It's just been few days since they met but they are already close. Andrew also knew what happened almost two decades ago but he didn't get angry at his brother.

"What the fvck are you two talking about?"

Andrew averted his gaze to his cousin and gave him an annoyed look.

"We were watching pokemon! Don't fvcking ask because you won't relate! Just talk to your guns!"

He snorted before he turned to his brother again. He removed his arm away from Kaiden's shoulder.

"Let's continue later, okay? I have somewhere to go to. Don't watch without me!"

After that, Andrew walked hurriedly out of the kitchen, leaving Kaiden and the mafia boss with a complete thick silence.

The silence didn't last, though. Kaiden broke it with a sigh.

"U-Uhm, sorry a-again."

He looked at the mafia boss for a second before he started to walk away but he just took a step when Lorenzo grabbed his left arm.

"I..." Lorenzo pursed his lips as Kaiden turned to him with his innocent doe eyes. "I accept my defeat now. I accept now that I can't get her back."

Kaiden remained quiet as he kept looking innocently at his cousin.

"Let's forget what happened before."

"A-Alright." The introvert boy smiled widely at the mafia boss and his warm smile almost made his cousin melt. It was his wide smile that can make everyone's heart melt.
