"Star, you look fine! Let's just go!" Luke groans, falling back onto the bed. Its the reception night for his friend Nida. I've already told him that I am going to take my sweet time to get ready. He needs to understand that these outfits are extremely fancy and they need a fancy makeup look.

The thing about Indian weddings is that it's a week long! So Luke had to buy me so many different outfits and matching jewellery for each occasion. It's curtesy. He had help from Nida's friend since we both don't know what to wear to this type of wedding. "Patience." I say as I bring the pencil to my eye, leaning closer to the mirror. Watching as the black liner appears on my waterline, I smile widely. Yep, I look magnificent.

I've got a black skirt with a gold ribbon at the hem that flows every time I move. With it comes a matching gold top that ties in the back so I got Luke to help me. I have a matching chiffon scarf that hangs loosely around my neck and heavy gold earrings that is called jhumkas. Nida told me that this outfit is called a lengha and I am for sure going to get Luke to buy me more.

My favourite thing about this outfit is the mehndi also known as henna design on my hands. It's not extravagant like the brides even though I wish it was. It simple and it stops just after my wrists. It's so pretty and delicate.

Glancing through the mirror, I see Luke prolong himself up with his arm as he admires me. A small smile appears on his face. "What you smiling at? I ask. He blinks and shakes his head before he smiles again. "Nothing."

I roll my eyes, obviously knowing that he's lying. "Can you stop painting your face so we can go?"

My gaze meets his through the mirror and I roll my eyes at him again. "Alright! Let's go!" I yell out as I get off the floor.

The drive to the reception wasn't far at all. It should've taken us a few minutes to get here, but Luke thought that he's a nascar racer and floored it which then made it take seconds to get here.

The soft illuminance from the lights scattered all over the venue is reflecting off his smooth skin and a small smile is on his face as he greets all his friends. I've already met everyone at the graduation and I saw them the other night at the mehndi night. However, I didn't get to meet the famous runway model, Alexandre Adisa since he didn't come for any of the events. I really wish I got to go to Monte Rei High when I was in high school.

We're currently all waiting by a stage for a dance to begin when I hear someone scream. "Luke!"

Luke and I turn around, looking to the sound of his name. "Dylan." Luke stands up to greet Dylan. "Did you see Nida?" He asks looking up at Luke.

My eyes immediately drift to the bride as she sits next to her groom to take photos with their families. Nida looks absolutely stunning. Her lengha is a unique shade of gold and is covered in gold jewels. The jewellery that is around her neck, on her hair, around her wrists and hangs from her ear lobes looks heavy, but are so breathtakingly beautiful. She even has a nose ring that has a chain connected to her left earring. From what I've heard, all the jewellery she is wearing is pure gold and some of the jewels on her outfit is real. The only item that is obviously not gold is the worn out pink string that is tied around her wrist. She's worn that string for every event and I know that it isn't for religious reasons.
