It's Overdrive night

It's Overdrive night. The night everyone looks forward to. I've never been so excited to attend such an event especially since I know what to expect other than stealing a car.

I can't even comprehend the idea of me going to Overdrive later tonight. I thought I would have died of alcohol poisoning by the time I was able to get an invite to Overdrive, but I guess the universe had other plans.

It's only the morning, but I've already been woken up to kisses being peppered all over the side of my face while Luke lays on top of me. He doesn't speak for a good few minutes, he just shower's me with love and let's me know how much I mean to him. When he does finally speak, his voice is soft and comes out as a whisper against my ear. "It's Overdrive tonight, my second favorite holiday."

"You talk too much," I say as a small smile comes onto my face while my eyes are still shut. "Ah shit, really?" He says and it gets me to open my eyes.

His chest rumbles with a light chuckle as he pushes my messy hair back. "Yeah, you should tape your mouth shut." He gives me tight-lipped smile and I raise an eyebrow at him. "Then how else am I going to eat the breakfast I made that is making the entire apartment smells so damn good?"

I stare at him for second. "I mean, you could lose a few pounds." I jokingly say as he finally gets off me, allowing me to finally breathe. "Oh wow, air!" I fake a cough and he stands there, looking at me unamused. "Are you calling me heavy?" He asks as he crosses his arms over his chest.

"Yes," I say jokingly as I smile at him. "Watch me relapse." He turns around dramatically which causes my jaw to drop. He quickly turns back around, a cheeky smile on his face before he grabs my hands. "Now get up."

He pulls me by my arm into the living room and I laugh with excitement. He's always so eager on my birthday like I am on his, but today it seems like he snorted a line before his morning coffee.

As we make our way to the kitchen, I see everything he made. He made pancakes, waffles, and muffins, he cut up fruit and he even made homemade croissants. It is the best croissant I have ever tasted. I can't believe he made it.

He tells me that when he went to Paris, he learnt how to make croissants which he refuses to teach me the recipe. He says that it's a secret he's taking to the grave because I'll never find a croissant this good and I'll need him.

As we sit by the kitchen island, debating if croissants in Europe would be better even though I haven't tried them and eat our breakfast, he forces me back into our bedroom to get ready. I don't know why he's so fidgety or where we are going. It could be that he's finally proposing or he's telling me I got him pregnant because I know I didn't pull out in time. If he is pregnant and decides to keep that baby, I'm leaving because I'm not ready to be a mom.

I finish applying my lipgloss when he appears again, "Are you done yet?" I roll my eyes as I sit up. "I want to give you your birthday present." He crosses his arms over his chest as he leans against the door frame. "Luke, it's not my birthday."
