I sat next to Alex this time, knowing a bit of his pass. I knew he didn’t want anyone to know about his past, it was something he and his family are trying to hide for a long time and now his only choice is either to lie about it or tell my parents the truth but I know Alex well enough that he will tell them the truth. Not because they are the Hemmings but I know he trusts them even if he only met them now.

I couldn’t understand why I know he trust my parents but I know he trust them with his life. His nervous state is not because of meeting my parents but something else that runs in his blood. It can feel through the bond that he felt like he let my parents down but there was confusion in him.

“Alex, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Linda and this is my mate Al” my mom began and continues, “I know this might be very strange for you but we would like know about your past. This also includes your family past and like I told Brian, we will not judge you on whatever you tell us.”

Alex instantly tense up and look at me. I gave him a reassuring smile but Alex still hesitates, a lot. My parents notice this and I knew they are talking through their mind link but the way they were looking at Alex tells me something else is going on.

“I can promise you that whatever you are going to tell us will be confidential.” My dad said. Alex nod but still hesitate.

“My family and I didn’t originally come from theGreenwoodpack.” He said hesitantly but continues on, “We came from the Midnight pack.”

“You are the next alpha?” My dad interrupt and I was shock to hear him interrupt Alex unlike when he was talking to Brian. Alex nods his head which my father looked at my mom with a knowing look that not only did I notice but I know Alex notice it too. “Please continue.” He said finally.

Alex eyed him but still continue his story, “But nineteen years ago, my father disband the pack after learning that someone was planning to attack the pack and since the alpha position is to protect the pack, he did what he thought was right at the time. We join theWalkerpack and stayed as low as we can. We didn’t move toGreenwoodpack until I was about to turn fifteen.”

“Why did you move to another pack?” My dad asks when Alex hesitates to tell them the rest of his story. I felt my chest tightens as I wait for his explanation. I watch as Alex looks at her and all she could do is smile weakly.

Alex sighs and looked down on the floor. “During the summer holidays, I found my mate. She was very shy girl, a bookworm and very plain but to me she was the most beautiful person I met.”

Each words stab my chest like it was a piece of knife. Alex squeezes my hand which I squeeze it back like telling him I was fine before he continues.

“We dated until she starts to change. She becomes very bitchy to me and even to her friends. Then popularity had finally got into her head and one night she just told me she is pregnant.

We never really pass the kissing stage but yet she was pregnant but still I love the child like it was mine. I got a job, move out so we wont hassle our parents but three months later she admit that she was only using me for money and after that she disappear.

My parents were the one who decide to move away. We moved toGreenwoodpack because to my parents it will help me recover by not being reminded about my mate who was human and sinceGreenwoodpack has no humans, they thought it will make me forget about her faster.”

My parents stayed quiet after that. They just watch Alex for a while before asking random question. I don’t know why they were doing that but not to Brian but I got a feeling there is more than they are telling.

What are you two doing? I ask my parents through the mind link before I felt them cut me off. I glare at my parents who was ignoring.

“Do you have any siblings?” My mom asks.

“My mom recently gave birth to triplets.” Alex said casually.

“What? When?” I ask stun.

Alex jump from my voice before answering my question. “Two years ago?” He said or more like asks. “Didn’t I tell you?”

“No!” I yelled. I didn’t know why I was getting work out over this and instantly blame it to my pregnancy hormones. But in my heart I knew it wasn’t a pregnancy hormones that making me react but my mind was too busy to actually work.

“I didn’t know that I should tell you.” He said sheepishly and apologetic.

“Cherry dear, calm down.” My mom said. It sounds like a normal motherly tone but you need to be really powerful to hear the authority in her voice. I calm down instantly and sat back down on my seat.

“I’m sorry.” I said sincerely after pulling myself.

“Alex dear, can you please bring your parents here.” My mom said which made Alex and I look at her sharply.

“Sure?” Alex said getting up before looking at me with question look. I shrug my shoulder unsure and watch Alex left.

“Why do you need to meet his parents?” I ask my mom.

“We got a hunch there’s more to that story.” My dad answers and didn’t share anything after that and I know I have to wait until Alex’s parents come. A knock on the door made us all look at door before Alex steps back in with his parents following. “Please take a seat.” My dad said to very guilty looking couples before Alex and I exchange confuse and amuse looks.
