“I heard you two had been getting along pretty well for the past three years.” I said as I lean back on the swing. Brian and Alex smiles and nod their head.
“We…” Brian trails off looking at Alex who smiles and nods his head. “We understood what we both feeling. No one else can relate to how we really feel but us two.” Brian looks down at his hand.
“I’m sorry.” I watch as the two looks at me with wide eyes and confuse. I wasn’t even sure why I said it but I can feel their pain.
“It wasn’t your fault.” Alex suddenly said, catching me off guard. “You don’t have a choice. You…” He smiles up at me proudly. “You’re power needed to be train, trained by the people who actually understand them.”
“He’s right, Cherry.” Brian grabs my left hand and smile. “Beside, what are matters now is that you’re back and hopefully for good.”
“I am.” I smile at up at them which I’m thankful they return it with the most loving smile I ever since. “So what’ have you been up to for the last three years?”
Puzzled, I watch as Brian and Alex looks at each other before looking at me with the identical arrogant look. Maybe letting this two hang around with each other is a very bad idea. I thought as the two continue to look at me with the same expression.
“I think we should head back inside. It’s getting pretty chilly out here.” Brian suggestion while Alex agrees.
Something is not right. I thought as I eye the two men in front of me with their hands stretch out for me to grab. Instantly, my instinct kicks in and I knew the two was hiding something for me.
But the thing about me now is I changed. I mastered my powers, powers that I inherent from the Wicca part of my blood.
Mind reading.
It’s not like what mortals thinks or that vampire in that Twilight movie. We can never tap inside their mind to read their every thought. We can only read the one we desire to read.
It was the first power I was able to master as I was trained to hunt by Nathan and Arvin before. They thought me to read the sign. Look for a thing that weren’t supposed to be there and that is how I was easily promoted from a normal pack member to an enemy hunter.
Easily, I slip into their barrier and with in minute I was hearing the thoughts they were hiding from me.
‘She wouldn’t believe us if we told her the truth. I mean, even I can’t believe it.’ I frown as I read the same thought but what is the truth? Mentally sighing, I let the two dragged me into the house without asking.
They can’t find out what I can do. Not yet anyway, it’s still too early. I debate in my head as I fight my own temptation to ask, ask about the ‘truth’.
“You know you can tell me anything, right?” I announce making the two look at each other before giving me a reassuring smile.
“We know.” They said in unison and I couldn’t help but think how right the twins were about this two.

A week, I been here for a week. For the past week, Nathan had let Alex and Brian have a week off. Those two didn’t even hesitate to leave and just go out. They took me to dinner every night, during the day it would be a theme park, to the beach, a picnic or just go around the lake.
It was sweet of them but I every time I look around, I can feel like something is wrong. I couldn’t shake the feeling and I couldn’t tell Brian and Alex. I didn’t want to worry them.
I learn a few days ago that ever since I left, Brian and Alex was taking double shifts and rarely going to sleep. If Nathan other them to go to rest, they wouldn’t chill in the game room, watching film or even going to sleep. They train each other.
Arvin had ask them why push themselves too hard and every time they answered the same thing or so I was told. “Our enemies won’t give us any rest.”
As much as I hate to admit it, it was true. Being with my biological parents had taught me this. The Hemmings family will always be in the middle of this up coming war.
A war that is much unpredicted.
Rumours had been going around for the pass year. Packs are reuniting into one and joining forces with The Council while the hunters seems to be growing.
The question is whose side will win?
How many innocent will perish?
How many packs are willing to fight along with The Council?
But the main question will remain, who will win the war between The Council and The Hemmings?
Time will show but is there enough time to save everyone?
