That same night I found out that Nathan pulled Alex and Brian off their shift, so I took the chance. “Nathan” I said as I walk into the office. Do you think I can borrow your office for five minutes?”
“I don’t see why not.” He said. He walked around his desk and stood in front of me and places his hands on my shoulder. “Everything will be alright.” I smile back to him and watch him leave before sending Alex and Brian a message through the mind link to meet me at the office.
Alex arrived first and gave me a small smile before Brian walks in, saw Alex and there was a bit of a smug look on his face that I don’t like. “We all need to talk.” I sat down on the sofa while the two took the sofa opposite to me. “I know, the week with Brian is cut short and I’m sorry for that.”
“It’s cool.” He said, smiling.
“The thing is, I don’t think I can decide just yet.” I said honestly and I saw Brian’s face drop. “It’s only because of what my parents told me before they left. It’s been bothering me for a while and the way they say it seems to be really dangerous and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
My parent said that ‘only one can be saved when you tie to that one you choose’. I’m not sure what exactly they meant but something tells me it’s not good, that’s why I hope you two will give me a few more time to think about things.”
I’m really sorry, Brian. I said to him through the mind link.
“Maybe it meant the pain of the rejection.” Brian said but through the mind link he said to me, what do you mean? You told me, you already chosen and now you are taking back what you said!
I glare at Brian while he did the same. I saw him open his mouth but our gaze moved to Alex who suddenly got up and looked between us with soo much sadness. “I know you are picking Brian and I understand, so you two don’t need to fight.” He said before walks off.
I should have run after him or said something to stop him from leaving but I found myself frozen in my spot, gawking at the space where Alex was standing just a few moments ago.
“This is your fault!” I yelled at Brian who looked at me shock. “If you just been a little bit more understanding!” being in the same room with Brian suddenly felt suffocating. I walk off leaving Brian in the office and run to my room but I couldn’t shake the look in Brian. He looked hurt but looked very guilty.
The same evening, Nathan called me, Alex and Brian to his office. Nathan seems very stress and distracted which I think was good because he seems oblivious to the tension between the three of us but I never expect to hear those words out of his mouth.
“I need you three to move to your own place in about a week.” Nathan said looking through piles of papers on his desk. “The pack house is for unmated members and maybe it will help you Cherry to get some answers if you share your own place and no one will bother you three.”
I didn’t know what to say and I look to Brian who only looked guilty but never said anything while Alex looked very depress but a slight hope sparks in his eyes when his eyes met mine for a few second.
“Tomorrow,Tylerand the others will help you built the house. I’m sorry to say, that it wont be in the area you guys might wanted but since Cherry is the third in command of this pack, I need her as close as possible to the pack house. Anyway, you three are dismissed.” He said still not looking up from his papers. We walked out of the office and gave each other before walking off.
The very next day, I woke up earlier than usual and did my morning training. After an hour and half running and training my skills I took a bath. I’m normally a shower person but my senses and my chaotic head need a lot of relaxation for me to calm down.
I didn’t have any sleep, thinking about the advantage and disadvantage of living together with my two mates. It would be great if it wasn’t for the minor – okay maybe major – problem that we are facing.
Alex thinks I already chosen but the truth is I’m not even sure who I choose. I know he felt like he is rejected, I felt it through the bond we all share and I bet my money that Brian had felt it too and that’s why he looked so guilty.
Then there is Brian. I know I said I choose him a few days ago but under the circumstances, I’m not sure anymore. If I choose him but turns out Alex is the father what will happen or if I choose Alex and turns out he is the father of the baby, I don’t think he will take it lately.
I rub my temples and groan. All the thinking was giving me a headache and more questions than answers. I don’t know if I should be thankful when I heard a knock on my door. I search the mind link of the people in the pack to see was knocking on my door and I couldn’t help but smile.
I jump out of the bath, grab my bathrobe and secure it before opening my door. “Arvin!” I said which seems to startle Arvin as I throw myself at him and hugged him.
Arvin chuckles, after we both fell on the floor with a thud. “Good to see you too.” I got up and pulled him up. “Something had been bothering you, isn’t?” I couldn’t help but smile at that as I nod my head. “Come on then, tell me.” He said as he close the door behind him.
Arvin had become my brother after his parents adopted me. He treats me right but never properly treats me as his sister. I would know because I don’t think he’ll share an intimate night together with me when we were young and unmated or so I thought I was. But we never told anyone about that night and I guess it brought us closer together. He knows he was my first as well.
Maybe that’s why I’m not embarrassed of him seeing me naked. I thought while aloud I said “I don’t know what to do or who to choose!” I grunt and walked to my wardrobe, grabbing my oldest clothes.
“Maybe you are not supposed to choose in the first place.” Arvin said. I pop my head out of the wardrobe to see him studying the pictures I stuck on the walls.
“I don’t think I’m supposed to have two mates for the rest of my life, either.” I counter-attack.
“True.” Arvin nods his head. “Then maybe you are not supposed to pick one just yet.” By the time he looked at me, I was fully dress and probably have my thinking face on. “Unless you are choosing now because those bump of yours will be showing in a few months.” He eyed my stomach with a smirk
My eyes snap up to him with my eyes about to pop out. “H-how did you know?” I stuttered.
Arvin laughs and shakes his head. “I got my own kids Cherry and beside I realise you patient is getting very bad and I know you well enough that you are a patient woman.”
“Is it really obvious?” I ask looking down on my stomach.
“I don’t think so but maybe for those who already had experience with pregnancy.” I groan once again. Arvin put his arm on my shoulder and leads us out of my room. “Anyway, I think it is time to build your house.” This time I grunt which Arvin laughs.
