~ * ~ Cherry’s Dream ~ * ~

The sound of chirping birds, running water, the trees swaying as the wind blows and the smells of spring woke me up. As I slowly regain consciousness, the first thing I notice was what I’m lying on. It was hard and slightly itchy with a smell of damp moist.

Opening my eyes, the grass stretches across my vision and into the forest. I was lying in the middle of a field with wild flowers grows and surrounded by tall and small trees. But what stood the most was a stone a few feet from where I was lying down. The sight of the stone calm my racing heart as familiarity settled in.

I had been here before. I thought as I looking around as I dust myself off. I shivered as the wind picked up a bit and instantly wrap my arms around me. I frown as I look down at what I was wearing.

Rather than seeing my ripped fading black skinny jeans, my ankle boots with two inches heels, my blue singlet and my long sleeve off-shoulder top, I saw a pale pink dress that reach to the ground. The sleeves were long but flare out but see-through with no shoe.

“Hello Cherry.” A voice said behind me making me jump, at the same time going into defence mode. The voice giggled and with recognition, I relax and looked at the culprit.

“Why am I not surprise?” I ask even though we both know it was a rhetorical question. “Amber, I should have known this is your doing.” I shake my head lightly at her while she sent me a cheeky grin. “Do you really have to put me into sleep just after my dinner?” I ask staring at the strawberry blonde beauty in front of me.

“At least I didn’t pull you in here WHILE you were eating.” She point out and emphasizing the word ‘while’.

“Fair enough but this better be good.” I huff as I followed Amber to the stone.

Amber’s strawberry blonde hairs that nearly reach her waist sway along with her hips. Her hair stands out even more with her ivory skin that she inherent from her father. However, she was the smallest of the five children of the Olsen – even though she is the middle child – something she inherent from her Asian mother.

She walked around the stone so she can face me. I stare at her eyes still amaze at the sight. She was named after her eye colour, Amber. It was unheard of to have amber eyes but yet she possesses such bright amber eyes.

But what amaze me more is the knowledge it holds. Amber is from the direct descendant of Andrea Olsen. They are the most powerful witch in the world and they are bond to the Hemmings through blood oath. Each witch in the Olsen family possesses unique ability or abilities from mindreading, palm reading and even seeing the future. Amber has two; she can see the future and pull the soul to this place.

Her sanctuary.

“Trust me, this is important.” Amber mumbles as she places a crystal ball in the middle of the stone. “I saw your future or I thought I did.” She looked confuse and worried for a few seconds before composing her expression.

That action alone made me worried. “What do you mean you think you did?” I ask. I know curiosity killed the cat and normally I wouldn’t bother asking but we are taking about Amber. She’s always sure of the visions she sees.

“I’m not sure either but I know something bad will happen. I’m not sure what it is, when it is or what kind of bad omen it is. My vision of your future was a blurred but its different now unlike what I saw before.” Amber said looking at me straight in the eye. “This is why I pulled you here and brought this along.” She said gesturing to the crystal ball.

I sigh as I looked at the crystal ball. If I was human, I’ll probably wait for her to let her hands hover over it and mumbles about ancient words but that’s not really how it works. All I can say is, the process sucks. I sigh one more time and touched the crystal ball.

I gasp as it literally took my breath away as I felt the sudden connection. Slowly the clear glass changed colour from purple, pink, red and finally black. I’m not an expert on witchcraft as I only took half a year mastering the basic of my ability before I was sent on an urgent mission but I do know black in the crystal ball means death.

I pulled my hands away as fast as I could and watch the crystal ball turns back into a clear glass. Amber didn’t say anything but only frown at the crystal ball mumbling randomly.

“Who’s going to die?” I asks too harshly as I saw Amber flinch. “I’m sorry.” I said instantly and felt bad for snapping at her like that.

“Like I said, I don’t know.” Amber said sadly. “I wish I could help you, I really do. The vision I told you before you left the Luna Pack, a few of it won’t come true. Brian will still mark you and you can’t really stop that because things are in motion for that. When you get back home, your heart will lead you to the man you want to live for the rest of your life and after that the rest won’t come true.”

“A letter from the Council asking Brian to join their army and the war that ended the Council from the hands of the hunter won’t happen?” Amber nod.

“I really wish I can tell you more. I really do.” Amber said, her voice had a hint of desperation.

I walked around and pull Amber into an embrace which she returns. Amber was like my favourite cousin out of all of them. She listens to me and gives me advice which fits and never changed me. She understands me perfectly and she was the youngest priestess being at the age of fourteenth.

“Thank you for warning me.” I said gratefully. We pull apart and there were tears on Amber’s eyes. “Don’t cry. If you cry, I’ll cry and that would suck when I wake up.” Amber chuckle, wiping her tears away.

“Be careful.” She said and I nod my head. Slowly everything starts to go blurry and before I knew it I was waking up once again.

~ * ~ End of Dream ~ * ~

I woke up with a smile on my face. Even though what Amber told me was mostly likely bad news, to me it was more likely good news. I cheated with destiny as I changed my future drastically.

I look to my right to see Brian asleep beside me. His arms were wrapping around my shoulder pulling me closer to him as possible while still making sure me and him are comfortable. One of his traits that I like the most.

Deep down, I knew Brian was the one. The one I love and always wanted to be with. I was just too young and stupid to realise it before. I know I didn’t need this spending a week to each of my mate. It’s true I enjoyed my time with Alex and I learn a few things about him too but Brian was different.

If I could go back in time, I would have paid attention at the attraction I felt for Brian when I join the Crescent Pack. The pull I felt for him time to time when we are near each other or even the tingling feeling I sometimes felt.

If only I didn’t hold onto my past that time I could have been happy with Brian now. Probably starting our own family like Nathan and Emma are. Maybe we could already have two children or maybe three.

I know it’s cruel for Alex but what can I do. I was in love with Brian long before and I didn’t realise it before but I do know.

I look beside me again and gently stroke his cheeks with the back of my fingers. He smiled and moved closer to my hand making me smile. I always wondered how it felt to touch his skin.

“I love you.” I whisper as low as I can and lean my head on his chest as I listen to his heartbeat. This week, I will make sure that I’ll belong to you and only you. I thought with determination.

Only yours.
