you yawn, shifting in bed and groaning at the absence of arms around you. you had grown very accustomed to at least have xiao or venti latched onto you in the mornings. whether it was ventis legs woven with your own or xiaos head in your chest with an arm around you waist, each morning welcomed the feeling. though, this time you could only cling onto the duvet. you sigh, sitting up and looking at the time. gasping, you realise. today is the day of your decent! you run to the windows, opening them up with a drag of curtains and a push of a door. you should really remember to lock these.

outside, it seemed people had gotten to work on decoration. the people of mondstadt moved fast, it seemed- garlands had already been hung thread with dandelions and cecelia. a larger alter lays near the wall behind the fountain in the square. you smile at the sight of prayers that swirl around it. people are dressed in their best- flowing skirts and well fitted waistcoats alike. it made you ever so excited.

but what are you to wear? something godlike, surely but your godly form was adorned with armour and battleaxes- it was far too inappropriate. all your formal clothes were from liyue and that would certainly set the wrong impression. plus, your role model was venti and theyre a terrible person to look upto. especially for clothing.

you sigh. you're going to have to fabricate something and it has to be appropriate in many many ways. you couldn't just wear your pajamas, right? you'll deal with that later. first, a shower sounds good.

you toss your clothes away as you walk towards the bathroom with the intention of cleaning them later, you turn on the shower snd step in, leaving the door open incase your lovers return and need to speak with you.

speaking of, a door opens below and clicks closed again, followed by a series of footsteps. you smile to yourself, happy they're back so you can see them. you've missed them terribly in your dreams. there, you only dreamt of when you were together in pain.

this time, you recalled your parting with venti, it was so terribly messy. you don't believe either of you have spoke about it yet. so many obscenities were exchanged and you think you both know the other didn't mean it.

venti peaks his head in at you, sighing happily at the sight of you running conditioner through your hair as you daydream in thought. he decides to let you think, gently pulling the door so it is slightly ajar to give you privacy, seeming as you forgot to redraw the curtains.

xiao throws the sheets back into place, half-heartedly making the bed. he saw no use in making it since you were going to get in it later- but back at home you seemed to always make the effort. so here, he did too.

you turn the shower off, wrapping yourself in a towel and gently scrunching your hair semi-dry. you walk out of the bathroom.

"evening ♡" you hum, kissing xiaos head and then walking over to venti who's back was to you, putting away the items they bought.

you slowly press your body to his back, hands trailing down his sides gently. he hums teasingly.

"right now?~♡" he asks, pressing closer to your body.

"mmhm~" you say, leaning into his ear and slowly dipping your fingers into the hem of his shorts.

"youre moving fast, today- woah- you're going straight for it-" venti gasps when your hands shoot down into the band of his understand.

you grasp at the round, smooth feeling of-

"apples. you little theif!" you shout, pulling two apples from inside ventis attire, he gasps, offended and covers his crotch area with his hands.

"you seduced me to take them from me!" he cries, crossing his arms, catching sight of a very embarrassed and confused xiao.

"like hell i would eat your ball apples!"

"you'll suck me off, though?"

"that's different! you could easily put these in your pockets or at least just in your shorts. you don't jave to put them on your ballsack."

"wow. such vulgar words. you cant be speaking like this on the day of your decent." venti crosses his arms, tutting.

"oh. that reminds me- what should I wear?" you ask, sitting on the bed and drying your hair further with the towel that once wrapped around your body.

"I'm so glad you asked! I have something prepared for you. for years, actually." venti hums, summoning silky white clothing in a flurry of blue feathers. you examine the clothing.

it looked akin to a lacy nightdress in the baby doll style, curtains of sheer blue fabric falling from the hem of the bust and meeting the back of two stockings trimmed with more lace and silk gold ribbons laced up the sides. in their other hand, was a translucent overcoat trimmed with even more lace, the train at the back of the coat had to be at least three meters of the flowing fabric. in his hand he held two long white silk gloves with the sane gold ribbon lacing them up, the top of the glove tied in big bows all the same as the stockings. the ribbon from the ends of the bows were left long. the next item in his hand was a pair of earrings you realised to be protection spells engraved on the crystal ore you find dotted around the continent. last, was a headpiece that connected to a white lace viel to conceal your identity, you smile at all the considerations he made. it was the sweetest.

"oh, venti. and here I thought I couldn't wear my pajamas. I just had to make them cuter." you grin, walking over and dipping your head down fir a long kiss.

"the earrings were xiaos idea. something about needing some sort of protection with 'clothes like these'" venti admits and you happily run over to kiss xiao, too. he restrains a smile and welcomes you.

"I even made you matching lace undies-" he starts- you toss your used towel at his face and he stumbles, falling back onto his ass. he chuckles, throwing it off and laying your clothes on the side. "remember to use the right form. especially when you speak- or you might just make everyone blind and deaf."

xiao frowns in confusion. "but they do not sound nor look awful." he claims. you'd thank him if it wasn't such a funny... compliment?

"you misunderstand- an angels true form could burn out mortals eyes because they can't comprehend it. just the same with their voice." venti says, coming over to sit next to you both on the bed.

"oh. I see. would the same happen to me?" he asks.

you and venti shrug looking at eachother.

"never tried. but I don't plan on testing to find out." you hum, pecking his lips. he looks a bit disappointed, but brushes it off.

"venti said angel. arent you a god?" xiao asks.

"hm, well... I'm not sure. I wasn't exactly told. I was praised as a god by my village, but worked under barbatos as an angel of an archon. there is no description of the two so I really can't make a fair assumption. usually, since im not one if the seven, I refer to myself as an angel- but in mondstadts writings, angels are seen to barbatos as a adepti are to morax. though, venti didn't have any other angel companions. just the four winds besides myself." you explain and xiao listens intently, nodding along.

"you were not considered part of the four winds?"

"though venti and I knew eachother beforehand, I didn't work under them until futher into the archon war. plus. 'the five winds' has less of a ring to it, hm?"

"yes and... what are the four winds?" xiao asks, a bit shy he has to ask given you so extensively learnt about his land, but he had not had the time to learn much about yours. venti breathily laughs and ushers you off to get ready.

"you can learn from the source. it's been so long since I was able to explain it all to someone and I've created so much poetry to tell it through since then." he sits next to xiao and summons his lyre. "would you give a lowly bard the pleasure of listening, honourable yaksha, alatus?"

xiao watches you retreat into the bathroom with your clothing, then nods.
