Cap. 12: Control

There was no doubt about the fact that Eddy was the perfect sex partner. Their encounters kept going and if there was one thing that Brett hated was the fact that Eddy was actually able to return home after they were finished, while he had to spend the night at Eddy's every single time. Sleeping alone after such an intense activity was not pleasant, but he knew why Eddy wanted to go home, and he made sure to let Eddy know in multiple occasions that he remained at his place just because he was literally unable to function after. He was barely able to close his house after Eddy has to leave after the encounters at his place.

And there was another thing to care about: it was already two months that he had his last heat and now he had start to think about his next one. The problem with his next one was the same as the last one: he was completely alone. Yes, technically he had Eddy but he couldn't ask for a permission at work since Brett was not his mate. Basically, there were no laws about imprinted people, just mated ones, and he was not willing to ask Eddy to take some day of vacation just for his heat.

So now he was out of Jane's office waiting to know how he could have handled this thing on his own.

Jane: "It will be painful, not gonna lie, even more painful than the last time"

She started to explain as Brett redressed himself.

Jane: "Fortunately now the wounds are healed and your reproductive system is been free from drugs for a while, but your omega system knows that there's a potential partner and it will long for it, trust me"

Brett: "Basically I'm screwed"

He concluded as he sat by the desk

Jane: "I fear so...Eddy cannot ask for a permission because he is not your mate, but I can try to talk to my superiors and see if they're willing to do an exception...but I doubt it after the way they treated Eddy when there was the imprinting..."

Brett: "Nah you've already done enough for me with the work and stuff"

Jane: "It was nothing really...Eddy helped too"

Brett: "Eddy?"

Jane: "Yep...they said to me that they needed the confirmation by an alpha doctor...so to finally convince them I had to ask Eddy to call them back...and he was really willing to do so"

Brett: "Guilt was biting his ass I guess"

Jane: "Maybe...but I could perceive that he also cared for your career. He knows how much Omegas struggles, and he is not willing to be part in crushing the achievements of one of them..."

Eddy was surely atypical for being an alpha, and this was a side of him that Brett really respected and admired. He wished more alphas were like Eddy and the fact that he was the sex partner of someone like this was making him really proud. Wait, what was he thinking?

Ok, yes, sure, fine and whatever since he was stuck in a sex relationship with an alpha, he was happy that at least he was not a classic alpha full of prejudices, but being even proud was a little too much.

Brett: "I know he is not the typical kind of alpha..."

Jane: "He had a dark past and I bet you had too...I don't know if one day you'll be parting ways, but at least for now try to make the present a little lighter"

Brett thought about it for a moment and agreed that it was not a bad idea.

Their next encounter would have been the last before the heat would have started according to Jane's calculations, and it was at his house.

Let's make a little explanation about omegas: they have four heats a year, if they're regular, usually near the change of season, and since it's way less than a woman period they hardly get pregnant. For a woman omega is a little different: she will have her normal period and the omega system serves just for mating, oh and don't even get me started on the complexity of alpha women. Basic rule: if your second sex has an additional feature to your natural one, you'll have it, otherwise you'll just need it for mating purposes.
