Two years later

Eddy looked at the decorated church as he walked the aisle with Belle on his side. It was fairly simple but it was perfect, in the end marriage was the last thing they had to do on their list so doing it too big would have just resulted in something inappropriate.

As the ceremony wants, he stopped at the altar and waited for his bride to come in.

Few minutes later the doors opened and the most beautiful version of the man he loved more than his life entered the church with a white suit, accompanied by his father.

He’d seen Brett many times walking toward him with a suit on, but this time it all felt different. He was simply stunning and breath-taking, and the simple notion that this one was the time he would have finally put a ring on his finger was able to curl his lips in the widest smile.

Brett stopped right in front of him, hugged his father one last time and took place on the altar.

The ceremony was kept simple and there were not many people: just Eddy’s siblings, Brett’s family and few friends like Jane.

And, of course, the best little maid had the task to bring the rings to the couple. In her white puffy dress, she walked toward her papa and stretched her arms to give him the cushion where the two golden bands were secured by a silk ribbon.

Damn papa is tall! Eddy looked down at Hilary trying with all her might to reach for papa’s heigh and squatted down to take the pillow and give her a soft kiss on her forehead. She smiled contently and walked back to uncle Fank.

She had become so big in just two years, and she was the cutest baby ever if you asked either Brett or Eddy. She was also good mannered like her parents and loved dearly by her numerous uncles and aunts, and her grandparents.

Eddy’s parents knew eventually about her and sent a congratulation card to Eddy just to protect their antics but in real they didn’t care all that much. They never showed particular interest for their other nephews, they weren’t about to start now.

After the ceremony they decided to have a little banquet by a nearby restaurant and call it a day without making the usual big party that you would expect after a wedding. Some music maybe but everyone would have been home for dinner eventually.

Jane: “May I have your attention?”

She said clicking her knife on her glass of wine. The people in the room quieted down and turned toward her.

Jane: “I just want to raise a toast for our newlyweds…I’ve known Eddy for quite some time and never I would have imagined that the day he would have been happy on an altar might have come”

She said clearly referring to the day he married Kim

Jane: “But one day a pretty messed up omega arrived at the ER and this omega had something that many other patients didn’t have: two broken hands. And when Eddy had fixed him, it was his turn to demonstrate that he also had the ability to fix Eddy…thanks Brett and thanks to the both of you for this amazing day, that I wish you to be the first of many!”

She raised her glass still looking at the couple

Jane: “Cheers!”

Brett and Eddy raised theirs as well as all the other guests and they all took a sip

Hilary: “Hily too pwease!”

She said to her mama as she saw Brett sipping on his own glass. She was sitting in Brett's lap as he helped her eat the cake.

Brett: “Hily is still too young for wine but she can have juice”

Hilary: “Yey juce!”

She giggled happily as Eddy passed her the glass with the orange juice inside.

Eddy: “Is Hily happy to be here today?”

She nodded as she gulped the last sip and she smiled at her papa

Eddy: “Will you give me mom to have a dance?”

She seemed dubious for a moment. She looked at Brett and then back at Eddy

Hilary: “Mh, but Hily want dance too, pwease!”

Eddy chuckled and petted her head

Eddy: “Ok then, when papa finishes to dance with mom, he will dance with Hily ok?”

She contemplated the sentence for a moment before nodding

Brett: “Good girl, now go to aunt Belle while we dance, in a few minutes papa will come, ok?”

She nodded once again and stood on her legs to walk to auntie.

Brett and Eddy walked in the middle of the dancing floor and waited for the dj to put on the music.

Brett: “You know Eddy…Jane was wrong, you didn’t just fix my hands”

Eddy: “Oh, yeah? What did I fix?”

Brett: “Me as a person. The night you worked on these hands was the night I had attempted suicide if you remember…and probably out the hospital I would have tried once again but you were there…just to have sex yes, but you were there for me…”

He planted a quick kiss on Eddy’s cheek and smiled at him

Brett: “Thanks for fixing me…”

Eddy: “Well…you did the same Brett. I was firmly convinced that I wanted to live alone with occasional partners, before meeting you. But I'm bot the type as you made me discover, thanks for fixing me”

The music gently stopped and the people in the room applauded at the couple before joining. A little puffy white dress ran toward the couple to have her dance with her parents that happily took her tiny hands to have a step three.

For a moment Eddy saw again that bruised face yelling at him but he also saw that face crumbling and revealing the two loving eyes that now were looking at their little miracle. He smiled back at his husband and his daughter and kept on dancing and laughing.

Could have he asked for more?
