Cap. 30: Pregnancy

Now it was official, they were pregnant.

First thing on the list was surely a house. Brett wanted to grow the baby together and Eddy was more than willing to create the best environment, so when Brett returned home, they started to search for a house.

The problem was the tour in Europe coming up and the fact that Brett was not willing to renounce it. He had a new contract that permitted him to take time off when he would have ended the pregnancy, but of course since he was still in the early stages he had to work.

The house was fairly easy to find. A not-too-big house, not far from the airport and the hospital where Eddy worked. They looked about thirty in a day and decided for the one that was able to please them both.

Fortunately, Eddy's siblings were more than happy to help with the moving and so they were able to finish it in about a week, after which they decided to host a dinner with both Eddy's and Brett's family to give the news.

He was already in the third month by now and he would have left for Europe soon so he wanted to give the news pretty quickly. To be fair Brett's parents already knew but they were still oblivious about the decision to keep it.

And then the day came.

Eddy: "So, let me say another thank you for helping us with the tons of things we had to move, really appreciated..."

He said when they were all in the living room after dinner. Brett was by his side smiling up at him, could have he asked for more?

Eddy: "But I guess the big news is not mine to give...Brett"

Brett: "Well, let me repeat thank you first of all, it was really precious and...to be fair my family already knows but they didn't know about my final decision so I guess it's time to say that...we're having a baby. I'm pregnant"

Eddy's siblings remained silent for a moment before on their faces took place pure happiness.

Anthony: "Eddy, you damn bastard! Congrats! In just a year you found your perfect match and started a family, you're really something!"

Lucy: "Congrats gege, but I've gotta agree with Anthony, you're quite the revelation!"

Belle: "Congratulation didi! Remember that if you ever need something you can count on us!"

For narrative reasons I had to write them separately but trust me they were not that clear, they kind of burst out in happiness for their brother and who could blame them?

Fank: "Congrats gege, I know you two will be wonderful parents"

He said hugging Brett as Eddy was dealing with the crazy horde.

Overall, it was a really good day and the fact that they actually supported them was surely something they both expected, but not to this extend. Just know that the next day three out of the six siblings brought them the items they used with their own children like a stroller or a crib, with a ton of baby clothes, both male and female. Just three because the others decided to help Belle out.

The amniocentesis showed the sex but they decided to wait for the birth to know it.

The Europe tour should have lasted three months and of course the both of them were not properly fond of the idea of Brett leaving for such a long journey in his condition, and they both agreed in making a last visit with Jane to ensure that he could actually do it.

And so, he left.

Eddy: "Hey, how is the tour going?"
